    Router or Switch

hi are you on virgin uk ??? yes mate hi. if you only have broadband from virgin. then i would go with either the netgear or belkin cable router. if you dont know much about networking then go for the belkin cable router (it has 1 press button set-up) you can get either from pc world remember to ask for a cable router. not a ADSL

  3. hi. if you are doing this for a customer i would first replace the capture card $22 will buy you nothing. looked at the spec and no mention of remote viewing. it will save you time and money if you can change the card.
  4. hi 2 posted on the board on the forum. http://www.asis2011.org/Pages/Seminar-Home-Page.aspx http://www.iscsolutions.com/
  5. hi the first problem is the amount of governing bodys ...... that took part in the cctv standards. 2009 they all added there little bit and it just confusses everyone. 2010 / 11 a new white paper has be draw to solve the problems. and when all bodys are happy then new standards will be out mid end 2012. give me a few days and i will email you the white paper that give changes. HOSDB is good reading along side DPA can i ask why you are looking into this ???

    New CCTV setup advice please

Have you seen the feed back. cheap crap avoid / buying from china not uk as listed. and just by changing the cable to good RG59 or cat5 to fit your needs is going to cost more than the whole system costs. then you will also need to upgrade the power supply if you are making your cable runs longer. the cameras will be 15-20m max range. i will say the same as the feed back he has CRAP.
  7. DMs will let you go though all settings but at the end will look like everything is done were infact they are not. are you using the right breakcode ??? and do you have HyperTerminal settings right on your pc. first is your code like this (last two numbers removed public forum) 6131xx and your hyper settings need to be as, 19200baud, 8 data bits, 1 stop bit, no parity and no flow control.
  8. maplins are b grade or old stock. even trying to do a firmware on the sentient could render it usless. it is a very basic dvr for the money. you cant make it better. or sentient would have themselfs
  9. even without the dvr not recording data still does not mean it cant be done. text overlay with data capture can be sent to a pc for image and data search. also detecing no sale voids or even total day sales. but it depends on what the op has to start with. what make is the DVR what make is the POS system

    Avermedia DVRs

no. using ip does not use FPS at the dvr.

    Avermedia DVRs

hi i only asked because if you are using ip as well as standard then the FPS will get better for your standard cameras. as you add ip

    Avermedia DVRs

the nano is a mix match hybrid if you are just going to run standard cameras then you have bought the wrong product. using standard cameras will not give you the high res from monitor. plug a 1.3 or 4mp camera in and you will see the the quality. should have gone for SEB if you just wanted to use standard cameras.

  18. That worked!! Thank you so very much, I can't tell you how fantastic that is. We have to have CCTV to protect ourselves from some pretty insane people. I really appreciate your help! And Brandon, thank you for your help too. I wish you continued success in your endeavours. no problem The_Librarian

would you sell your customers B grade stock. what a silly comment. a recommended system or camera is a lot better way of buying than not knowing anything about the dvr or camera. saves buying twice dont you think.
  20. press the right key ► on the DVR front panel during DVR power-on to force the video output via VGA.
