Kell Factor and effects on UK CCTV Operational Requirements
tomcctv replied to glynnseal's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
hi the first problem is the amount of governing bodys ...... that took part in the cctv standards. 2009 they all added there little bit and it just confusses everyone. 2010 / 11 a new white paper has be draw to solve the problems. and when all bodys are happy then new standards will be out mid end 2012. give me a few days and i will email you the white paper that give changes. HOSDB is good reading along side DPA can i ask why you are looking into this ??? -
Have you seen the feed back. cheap crap avoid / buying from china not uk as listed. and just by changing the cable to good RG59 or cat5 to fit your needs is going to cost more than the whole system costs. then you will also need to upgrade the power supply if you are making your cable runs longer. the cameras will be 15-20m max range. i will say the same as the feed back he has CRAP.

tomcctv replied to cbr1's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
maplins are b grade or old stock. even trying to do a firmware on the sentient could render it usless. it is a very basic dvr for the money. you cant make it better. or sentient would have themselfs -
Newbie help with hooking up DVR with POS
tomcctv replied to sonthan00's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
even without the dvr not recording data still does not mean it cant be done. text overlay with data capture can be sent to a pc for image and data search. also detecing no sale voids or even total day sales. but it depends on what the op has to start with. what make is the DVR what make is the POS system -

interference/ghosting problem
tomcctv replied to mikethomas10's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
hi. so just with one camera pluged in you get the same problem ?? -
no. using ip does not use FPS at the dvr.
-
hi i only asked because if you are using ip as well as standard then the FPS will get better for your standard cameras. as you add ip
-
the nano is a mix match hybrid if you are just going to run standard cameras then you have bought the wrong product. using standard cameras will not give you the high res from monitor. plug a 1.3 or 4mp camera in and you will see the the quality. should have gone for SEB if you just wanted to use standard cameras.

would you sell your customers B grade stock. what a silly comment. a recommended system or camera is a lot better way of buying than not knowing anything about the dvr or camera. saves buying twice dont you think. -
