  1. yes the avers can use a rs232 to rs 485 for longer runs. is your rs232 showing up in your device manager as a com port device
  2. how far is your dvr from your registers. and are you using drivers for your usb converters
  3. how are you connecting the registers to your dvr. ???
  4. ProposalmanJ. hi please dont take this the wrong way. just on the questions you have asked says you have not done ip before. i would say not to do it yourself. just look at the money involved. best of getting a company in to do the work. that sort of money you want it right. or let people know were you are and if you have someone close to you from the forum see if they will help you manage the install of your system.
  5. Hi mind twist. my head hurts after reading all that. but still cant make out what it is you are doing. why are you looking at recording from VGA. are you looking at tapping of a server existing system ?? are you going to be using the hikvision dvr to record everything that you have posted? you do mention D1 on the dvr. that dvr is not D1 and it will not do D1 at 25fps it will only do 25fps in cif how many cameras are you looking at recording and what are you protecting. ???
  6. rat droppings / dog pee forget the leaf blower . i have come to service your DVR
  7. our dust down here laughs at those things I just use a vaccum most the time (being careful not to suck up any dipswitches) leave blower also works. or theres a local store with a real compressed air machine that charges $10. i have come to service your dvr.

Looking for a Night Cam without LED lens

for what it would cost to leave a pc and then install a capture card and software i would just use a 4 way dvr. we used the avermedia EB3004 net with two cameras and 1 microphone. that gives you 30 days recording full internet viewing on any mobile

Looking for a Night Cam without LED lens

are you leaving the pc in the stable ??? you are going to need some sort of capture device in your pc or you will need a ip camera .... what do you intend the system to do. just watch or protect your stable

Looking for a Night Cam without LED lens

we have had cameras in a stud stable for 3 years now with no problem at all with IR. bullet cameras are ideal for what you need. you are also asking for internet access .... do you have power at the stable and a network there or close to the stables. this is a good little camera for your needs. http://www.ktnc.co.kr/english/viewtopic.php?t=427
  12. Zoom factor relate to Len's only one more pix for fun X50 digital these images have been going around to net for over a year. and the camera is still $700
  13. Hi indpowr. yes ip ptz is well out of your budget and am sorry to say so is a standard PTZ. clear and strong zoom cant happen with $300
  14. you will need 2 of the power supplies listed. to run 10 cameras at 1amp each. to wire your cameras i would use cat5 with baluns 1 cable will do video/power/ and PT control.
  15. Thanks for correcting me! They are PT's. I live in a part of Memphis where hobo's love lurking around and going through your trash. This hobo had the balls to take out one dog ear fence in the corner of my yard and went through all my cars getting change (thank god he didn't take my tools). I want to make sure THIS never happens again or if it did, I would know which hobo to go get and "Dexter" him. I will try the "let's hook the power into the ADT control board" method before the PSU. I've already bought the pig tails so let's see how this plays out. The DVR i have is the DVR-DVS that I got relatively cheap so I'll see if I like this. I just need to wait a paycheck or two to get the remote/controller. ADT alarm panel ??? if it is your alarm panel i would not do that. it will not have enough power. for $40 why not do it right. 12v 5amp.

hi. the one you have listed is a toy compared to the avermedia. and i think anyone who says the avermedia is not user friendly has not used one.

    Avermedia DVRs

avers nano is a very good little unit both 4 and 8 way hybrid HD. with sa/nv navigation osd . its priced right to get the cheap dvrs of the market.
  18. Hi absolute. why are you using the vs7100 if you have a hybrid dvr ??
  19. it will be cheaper just to buy a 12v 5 amp power supply for your cameras. and you keep saying PTZ these cameras are not. what you have bought are standard 8mm fix lens cameras on a plastic PT head. max 1 amp. these cameras are just about ok in side a store (small store) but for outside use they are a waste of time

    power supply for kantech

i dont know what you have your panels controlling. door locks / keypads ..... but i would say not a good idea. at the moment if one unit or power unit goes down you will only loose that zone. connect all nits to one power unit and everything goes down. yes each unit as battery back-up ....... batteries dont last long in that unit.

    POS setup

on avers you should remove everything cameras/serial connections before you change any software. and yes avers does scan serial. as avers has moxa drives in the software. if needed for pos or ptz

    Exacq and Mac ?

sounds like your local ip changed for your dvr. you may have to re do your ports on your router to your dvr ip. do you have a static ip or are you using a ddns service.
  23. .dav files extension means Dahua recorders Also, i'm every time wondering, about installers promises to customer.Like forensics search functionality. Lots of equipment manufacture companies can do ROI (Region Of Interest) search, but this is not "advanced motion search" ......... what ???
  24. what make is your dvr ??? can you not narrow down your files to approx time of your footage needed

    12VDC or 24vac

do you not have power in the garages to power your cameras local. and just use your cat5 for your ip camera. Great question, Tom. Yes, we do have power in the garages but we're powering everything - cameras, bridges, monitors and computers - from UPS's as a precaution. if you are protecting everything with UPSs then you will save with going POE with good switcher. then you will not need UPSs for your cameras.
