CCTV Design Advice from the FBI

Hi Ilk. how are you ??. what a good way to explain to your customer how important a good install should be. been trying something like that for years but they still buy crap.

    NIGHTCLUB

Hi Rainman. i would not use a ip camera in a nightclub. you have so many lighting conditions. i would stick with standard. except for the entry and well lighted areas then yes ip. and i would say use a hybrid system. but before you look at your install make sure your system is up to standard for uk. what dvr/nvr will you be using ??
  6. Do you have a demo login? hi rory just pmed you mobotx live demo page. click on english then live demo and then pic your camera.
  7. Thx, I signed up as a partner, hopefully they will give me some information. Maybe I should just keep buying in China just low/mid end DVRs, and forget about trying to find there anything high end. It might not be worth the headaches... i used to buy from china then i stoped and my headaches went
  8. After taking Mobotix training course, do I become Certified Partner? Or to become Certified Partner there is some kind of special course for it ? you will need more than 1 training couse for that. call mobotix and go on a couse for the Q24 to start. and i bet you will come back on the forum giving people advice on mobotix. until you have used one you will never know. you have things like video/ sound both ways down 1 pair of phone lines or 1 Q24 will give you 4 ip cameras on a dvr/nvr (can you buy 4 good ip cameras for the cost of the Q24) no.
  9. i aggree with soundy. no point buying cheap crap like newlifecoming (good name as he has had 3 on this forum) your budget is very low. and the biggest part of your system needs to be the dvr. it needs good recording and easy back-up. so i would say build your system in stages if your boss will not give you more money. first stage dvr/monitor and 2-3 cameras then add to it each month. or buy a good named dvr and buy cameras from ebay
  10. Hi Robert. you are wrong on all your comments. the youtube video only shows the camera (Q24) and not all it can do. as far as 3mp and 1.3mp the images are the same when the 1.3mp is b/w. i would go back onto the mobotix site and read about storage. you can store more on a mobotix than any other nvr/dvr. there is so much to learn about the mobotix

    small problem with NV6480ex recording

hi mark. in scheduling make shure everything is white and not blue. white means turned off. also i have pm you the new manual if you are recording 24/7 you need to do some settings on your H/D. but i still recommend using motion for recording. but if you wish to keep 24/7 then please see page 124 on manual.
  12. That card has been recommended. The problem with it is it apears to be a 4 port card. I need 8 ports minimum as I only have two PCI slots and will need 7-10 cameras once I'm done. It looks like the lowest model AverMedia card I could use is the NV7240. I was also looking at the GV-800-8 series as an option if I could find a decent price used one. the nv5000 will give you 16 cameras on two pci slots. and 25 fps on each camera. Thanks for the tip on that; Looks like that'll be a good option, and I can get it through work from one of their distributors (D&H) for a decent price. Only thing I'm a little confused about is you say it'll do 16x25fps, but AverMedia's specs say it'll do a max of 120fps. Is that spec just for the base 4 channels? 25fps on each card so you will need 2 cards and 2 extentions.

    small problem with NV6480ex recording

First take a look at your recording schedule and make sure smart record has been removed. and set your recording to motion (with the pre and post record your card has no point in 24/7) also did you partition the master H/D and set the rest to data only. and stay with your currant software dont go 7.7 till the problem are sorted with it.out.

    Detecting clones/fakes

it depends on your budget. if its used on ebay then its just a bad card been returned. and anyone can put links to geovision. buying from ebay bad idea. its a risk that turns into a headache and costs money. take a look at the avermedia nv3000 costs a little more than cards on ebay. but its new and you have back-up and support. 16. avermedia are like hivision . they sell cards and dvrs. just to a better standard. http://www.averdigi.com/sp/
  17. looks like reflection from the wet floor. ir will bounce back from anything like that. also your pic shows that you have lighting running as well. just switch off your ir or cover it up with black tape and see what your picture is like then.
  18. Hikvision cards are used by many dvr makers. and i used them for many years. until they started adding the cost of licences to stupid things like a yearly microsoft licence. you are in spain and in the same area as avermedia europe. not a dealer but a manufactura. and they knock spots of hikvision.
  19. you also get the cms 3000 software with the unit. so if you can network it you will have full control from any pc.
  20. for a high end card you will need to look at something more than 4 channel to get you into good fps and quality. so you might be better buying a small dvr. with your cameras being so high. look for D1 recording with 25fps. this little unit will connect upto your existing monitors and allow you to connect a vga monitor also. full mouse control http://www.avermedia.com/AVerDiGi/Product/Detail.aspx?id=232
  21. to go from dvr to pc you will need a crossover cable. and not the standard eithernet cable.
  22. much better. but if your pc died then why not just by the avermedia 1304 sata from avers. it has a much better frame rate than the nv3000.

    network on t mobile uk

yes it is pos. and thats a good phone to do it on. but to give you more help we need to know the make of your dvr.
  25. the best way for you is not to put it though there ddns. the bt home hub is straight forward but first. (if you are in the uk BT) is to just buy a static ip (£5) for the year. then just log into your external ip.
