DVR for industrial purposes
tomcctv replied to atamai's topic in DVR Cards and Software - PC Based Systems
to mix and match your old cameras with new and also ip then i would take a look at the avermedia http://www.avermedia-usa.com/surveillance/productdetail.aspx?id=66 also you can now try the software for 30 days. see link and have a play. http://www.avermedia-usa.com/surveillance/AVerMediaTrialsoftware.aspx -
the dvr listed is only cif recording. the higher the cif the better or D1. gives you much better video quality. So what is the difference in “potential” quality of CIF vs. 4CIF? Resolution quantifies only how close pixels or lines can be to each other and still be visibly resolved. A 4CIF image “can” potentially produce a better quality image then a CIF image because the more pixels used to represent an image; the closer the result can resemble the original. and this is the main thing you look for when buying a dvr. and the price of the system you listed you can buy a good 4 channel d1 dvr.

i would look at something better. the recording is crap. plus its a no name. take alook at avtech or the avermedia eb1304 sata. both are very good little units and both have good back-up. the cameras on the site you listed are good i.e cnb http://www.cctvsecuritypros.com/1sosuhadccd.html ideal for watching your yard.

i have also moved away from 7.7 and i buy my dvrs built from avers. 7.7 works well with the remote imatrix software from avers it has some good features on it

Newbie help on small office DVR and camera setup....
tomcctv replied to BlueFire's topic in System Design
Hi jason. the dvr you have listed is cif recording very bottom range so i would say buy better. if you are not bothered about recording outside then take a look at the mobotix Q24 or if that is a bit over your price then i would recommend this http://www.avermedia-usa.com/surveillance/productdetail.aspx?id=18 with 3 internal cameras and 1 external at the front. and if you stay with a brand name dvr you will have a good back-up service and having that alone will save you $$$ -
tweaks you are a bloody good sales man if that was the case it would show on any camera. its either a cheap camera or bad settings

tomcctv replied to residentialSean's topic in General Digital Discussion
yes its pos if your tv has vga input (pc) all you would need is something like a kvm extender http://www.wdminc.com/products/images/KVM_Extender_WDM.pdf -
you should have a cd to load onto your pc or laptop that came with your system. please see instructions below. http://www.cop-eu.com/sections/downloads/files/Network%20Guide.pdf

is your dvr the cop zt dvr.
-
give it back to supplier and buy another make. it will be a power problem with the unit (hhd failure is a clue) plus looking at the website it is a very cheap dvr. try playing footage back mmmmmmm. also never buy a dvr that says ips as it is not the same as fps 30 ips is only 15fps. best thing is to exchange the dvr. for a brand name with support.

hi you dont need software if you have done all your port forwarding to 5550 for your dvr and you have handy viewer ticked in the network box then all you need to do is enter http://yourip:5550 But I have a mac and I can't install the activeX for this. I tried some solution proposed in others topic but it doesn't work. down load the apple app to your mac its free at the app store. averdigiviewer.
