Upgrading a system with sound for a Kennel operation
tomcctv replied to LoneWolf's topic in System Design
Hi kevin. you might be able to get away with filters on your dome cameras if it is just a light problem. as far as sound looking at the spec it will take 4 mics. -
both cameras you have posted and both will do the job you need. both cameras will be colour in the day and switch to b/w at night then your ir will come on. both the cameras are made as reverse cameras so i would not bother looking at lens types.

Question about IP camera Trendnet
tomcctv replied to tanmaysnv's topic in General Digital Discussion
the software looks ok not used them myself if you are getting it for a good price give it ago. http://trendnet.com/products/features.asp?featureid=34 -
the camera you posted is ideal for your needs. it is built for just your purpose. and the other good thing about the camera you posted is you have the flip picture mode. makes it a good reversing camera.

also remember portforward the pos on router to be a little faster on remote view.
-
£750 is not a bad starting price for an 8 port.

this law is already in use in the uk. see link below. i also spent time in america and one night went out with friends to a bar i started playing on a slot machine and after a while i won a ticket that you exchanged at the bar for a prize. it was a leather bound case with 4 small knives with golden eagles on the handles. i was so pissssssssss## that i could not bring them back to the uk. http://www.goxplore.net/guides/Knife_law_(UK)

sounds like a lot more things to go wrong yes the mobotix is a very good camera (Q24) but most people that use the mic and speaker find that the speaker is not very load. and one thing that gets me is if you disable the mic from a Q24 its gone for ever or at least till you send it back to mobotix to be reset at a cost. everything with mobotix has a cost (never ending) the avermedia sa5000 has what you need and it works very well oooooooooooppps you cant buy it in america.

you could always run a 2 channel switcher. and have 2 not so important cameras switching every 5 seconds. or get your client to buy the 16

tomcctv replied to crosseyed66's topic in DVR Cards and Software - PC Based Systems
if each till has either printer or digital display then it does not matter whos system you use. they are 2 companys i know of in america and both i have used and there service is very good. the first is AVE. http://www.americanvideoequipment.com/ and as you are in pa another company i have used is remoteye. http://www.remoteeyes.com/pos_integrate.html -
yes everyone who sells that ptz in the uk has had faults. and it is not a cnb why they sell them as i dont know. but at least they exchanged them for you.
-
so think about it mmmmmmmmmmmmm powering cameras from pc power unit then start recording even more power used from onboard unit ............ remove camera power from pc and give them there own
-
did you get them from a company starting with v in leeds area ???
-
first have a look at your smart recording. this is when your dvr records in poor quality till it picks up movement. it should give you options to change settings. but i would say set your dvr to motion only record and see how it goes. also if you are thinking of changing and you have not built a card based pc then buy a dvr it will be cheaper for you in the long run.

Board Camera Permanent Install: ESD concerns valid?
tomcctv replied to todd2's topic in Security Cameras
like soundy says. you dont need a ground strap. just dont touch the lens. most cameras will cope with a little static. and dose not cause a problem. take a look at ptz cameras steel gears with nylon belts. ideal combo for static but causes no problem. -
What phone & software is best for Avermedia PDAViewer
tomcctv replied to swampguinnie's topic in General Digital Discussion
Hi swampguinni. you dont need any software for any avermedia. it will work on any phone or smartphone/ pda/iphone. all of which have very good remote viewing. but with a pda i.e htc phones you have multi screen and you can also record. pm me for iphone app. but any other phone just dial in to your recorder. -

Hybrid DVR for IP/analog cams - what brands/models?
tomcctv replied to benf's topic in Digital Video Recorders
yes bad image display and play back ghosting around image. anything with the 7.7 software has the problem. the 5116 has been out for just on 2 years and cheaper than the 5216.
