  1. Strange behavior of World's No.1 producer. Maybe firmware developers lost email address of application department...
  2. I'm looking for PC software which would transmit desktop screen as ONVIF compatible video stream (other protocols are also welcome, of course). In other words, I need ONVIF camera emulator sending PC desktop screen video. Initial idea is to record activities on PC POS cash register on ONVIF compatible NVR. On analog DVRs, I used VGA to composite converters, but now I want to move completely to NVR and avoid using hardware.
  3. Thanks Securame, I checked the link, looks interesting. I need more detailed information about VLC and Hikvision recorder settings.
  4. As I wrote, I already used converters for analog DVR, but for NVR additional IP encoder / server should be used which doesn't look cheaper at all and limits picture quality to D1.
  5. Hikvision's Turbo HD (HDTVI) and Dahua's HDCVI technologies seem to be similar , but are they compatible? Or: can I use HDCVI camera on Turbo HD DVR and vice versa. Anyone tried ?
  6. I want to record PC's screen output on Hikvision NVR. My idea is to set VLC stream output which is compatible with Hikvision NVR, so it can be recorded, but I'm not sure if it is possible. Usage? Simple POS surveillance, I use VGA to Video converter on analog systems and want to move to IP systems. Any solution?

    Understanding GV Recording

About FPS ... If you check Smart option in frames/sec settings for all cameras, all available FPS capacity will be equally shared depending on which cameras are recording at the moment. This option makes round-the-clock recording practically obsolete, and if you have random or low motion traffic in front of the cameras, it's not necessary to buy high FPS card to obtain high FPS recording for each camera. Also, you can set different recording resolution by clicking green "play" button on the right from Recording quality slider. Choose Geo H264 V2 codec, saves hard disk space and speeds up Internet live video.
  8. I installed DICO-800 software. Nice looking, simple to use and many features for free... but, when I connect via DICO-800 client both over LAN and Internet, I get live video, but cannot search any archive video. Dates and hours with recordings are marked yellow same as it is on server application but after selecting an hour and clicking Play button nothing happens. BTW, everything works fine on server. Any idea?
