help needed with cnm secure dvr and meye app
SectorSecurity replied to andywoody's topic in Computers/Networking
Sounds like an app problem to me, it may also be possible you missed forwarding the media port? -
Serial number should not matter if you properly control all usernames and passwords for access.

Hikvision as already stated are pretty cheap, they are on sale right now if you have access to ADI. Vivotek can also be cheap. If you want really cheap, with a high number of cameras NVR and all look at a packaged system at Costco. Also you can skip the CAT6 for wiring in cameras, just an added extra cost.
-
Hikvision has an NVR that may be in your price range. You could use Blue Iris as the recording software on the computer and just put in a second hard drive if you only want to record 1 camera.

System Recommendations for a Jewelry Company

What is your budget and requirements? I would suggest you go with an NVR and IP cameras. Your budget and requirements will greatly dictate what you need for your shop. -

SectorSecurity replied to sie's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
Are you not the same person that in another thread began to call everyone a troll when it was brought up there may be a possibility the unit was stolen? Not the best way to get users to help you for free. -
Cold temps. I am new to the video surveillance world.
SectorSecurity replied to timb's topic in General Digital Discussion
Most electronics don't like to be extremely cold or hot, this is why we use heated enclosures with fans to control the temp and keep everything working the way they should. -
Can't view video in browser from outside network
SectorSecurity replied to bryanman's topic in Computers/Networking
Port 8080 is used as most ISP's block port 80 to stop people from hosting servers on residential connections. You should have no issue using port 3000 as long as you aren't using it for anything else. -
This is exactly why I use junction boxes, I mean the cost is billed back to the customer anyways.

Lines across the screen? Help!
SectorSecurity replied to theboss's topic in General Digital Discussion
Looks like either ghosting or a ground loop, I would say try a ground loop isolator, what is the camera mounted to? -
Can access feed through wan ip, no video
SectorSecurity replied to boogerlad's topic in Computers/Networking
Sounds like you forgot to port forward the media port, thus why you are able to login but cannot view video. -
FTP from DVR - Can I use my web server
SectorSecurity replied to piersuk's topic in Computers/Networking
Sounds like you may need to switch to a binary mode on the FTP connection, or may also be an active vs passive FTP mode issue. May also be the DVR is trying to use SFTP or FTPS which would be on a different port then FTP. You either need to review your logs or run a packet capture to see what is happening on the wire, this will let you know what is going on. -
2 Bullet installation
SectorSecurity replied to empedokles's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
Chances are your router does not have POE so the answer would be a no, you would need a POE switch. Yes you will have to run a cable to each from the switch. -
PASSIVE BALUN BOTH END WITH STATIC VIDEO ISSUES
SectorSecurity replied to andresdamas's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
I am still looking for a supplier in Canada, I really want to start using these. To avoid using them I have considered using baluns which have an RJ45 jack instead of screw down terminals. Are you using the same pair for the positive and negative video signals? If you are try using blue and blue which for positive and green and green white for negative, see if that helps any. -
It will have a 3 axis gimble inside for adjusting the position of the lens.
-
Yes it is called a game camera, you are not going to find a magical no wires, remote view CCTV camera.

Securing RG59 siamese cable w/ low voltage staples?
SectorSecurity replied to wrytous's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
Make sure you are using a rounded staple not a square, and as stated if you are careful you will have no problems, if you plan to be a cowboy with your staple gun you are going to end up stapling the wire. -
Hikvision DS-2CD2032-I Power Supply
SectorSecurity replied to RIPTHREE's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
no having a higher amp will not affect anything as long as the voltage is correct, I recently installed several Hikvision with 12V 2A no issue. -
Can't view video in browser from outside network

I don't know where you are but HTTP is port 80, not 85, and when you say MAC are you refering to the MAC address? -
Yes you can assign a port to the IP address and you just have to create a socket layer to access each one, a socket is an IP address and port such as 192.168.1.100:81.
-
Yes, if you want to add the added cost and headache of setting it all up, better off limiting the user login to 1-3 people at a time, being a DSL line does not tell me anything about their upload speed, however I assume it is probably about 256KB.
-
What are you looking to spend as that will greatly determine what you get. And just as a reference I am partially colour blind and most of us do not have a problem telling the different between red, yellow and white.

I have never understood how people can throw out a price and say your camera will be 225 installed, I have had cameras that take 30 minutes to install and others take 3 hours, but that is just me. for 4 cameras 1TB will be more then enough to go back a week or more. The honeywell stuff is not top of the line, but since I don't know your budget I can't recommend anything different.

Check out Novattach, might be out of your budget but a good product.
