  1. From experience if you want WDR and Low Light then use the SONY... Even the E Series Camera 3MP Sony camera will out perform most 3MP cameras.. The Best SONY camera though is still the 1.4MP V series cameras with View-DR... Even better at WDR then the 3MP due to the light the Exmor can process... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=py7LWPlmac0 Watch at the end as the guy shines a light into the camera, no mobotix, avigilon, Sanyo, Panasonic, whatever can handle that type of punshment and still see in those conditions but SONY can " title="Applause" /> The IR's are only short Range and need something to reflect but if you want to go bigtime with IR then the RAYTEC products are second to none. http://www.rayteccctv.com/videos.aspx?id=17 I use the View-DR on problem areas and then the SONY E series to save some cash on the no vital areas. Thanks MM
  2. Hi, I agree that FLIR would be a good option and even a silent sentinel.... Better made Camera using once piece of metal so that it can acheive a better IP rating, comes with a washer standard for marinas and also can handle 20 metres of water in a reservoir about 20 meters away... I sell these in Australia to coastal installs with plenty of salt spray and Mines and they have the option for thermal as well.. They also use FLIR modules and SONY chipsets so the cameras can perform as well. Nice product and well designed and built.. http://www.silentsentinel.com Other then that the SNC-EP580 360 degree or the SNC-EP580 340 Degree. 3MP with the Sony Exmor and 20 x Optical Zoom.. hands down a better camera then AXIS and the other cameras tat mind you use SONY Chips ( but who doesn't ).. Affordable and you would be giving your customer a name though know... Thanks MM
  3. Hi Peter, I would be looking at the Exacq Products, Should fit your Budget and also fit the scope of the job. The have unlimited Clients and also on edge processing, this means the camera handles the motion. ( Don't need a Super Computer with a super Price tag ) There is a online trail at www.exacq.com and I think you will be impressed. I have used the QNAP many times before and although they are OK thye are not at the level I think you need for management and backups are a pain with QNAP. Hope this Helped.

    Exacq and Mobotix

Hi, Great feeback as it is always good to be hear peoples thoughts good and bad.... I do agree with it lacking in some areas but I do have to say it is very easy to use. One thing I guess with Exacq is they are will to support the product and look at road mapping features like you mentioned for later versions... I have had not had problems with ExacqRecall as yet so maybe the bug is fixed.. Also the client software would be good to have a password. Thanks again for your feedback... I do like the On Edge Processing... Nicely Done Exacq

    Exacq and Mobotix

Hi, I have no issues with Milestone but the client has Exacq on another site and likes it and wants to migrate to it for a change... I guess the security manager has to justify his position amd the company needs top write off some tax money.. Either way keeps me busy. Exacq seems pretty clean software and easy to use as well... Anyone have any bad feedback?
  6. I would have to agree with the aussie, Messoa is a good camera but leaves allot tobe desired at night and the SONY cameras well I agree you want good quality then you have to pay for it.. The Exmor CMOS is as good as any CCD camera I have seen in Low Light... Exacq and QNAP are good but Exacq is the pick for me...
