cant view video footage as saying file corrupted.

this is how ive done my own umber plate, its a covert style bullet cam mounted inside the post with security screws/bolts and sealed with a black silicon style sealant to the light post, heres a day shot of what you see

the way i have done our reg plate is we installed a lighting column post light on a concrete pad near end of driveway and the camera was mounted approx half way up the coloumn inside looking through a small pin hole and glass installed over lens will try and take a few shots tonight with camera flash to show.

this is where ptz speed domes and alarm pits linked to presets come into their own as well as having static cams in strategic locations around the property the statics guvr the over view and the ptz domes allow the system to get I'd if its setup to its fullest potential but that takes twice what most people are prepared to spend

use baluns for the video transmission and use a separate power feed local mains to PSU as its less volt drop on the low volt side

ive managed to find one of the boxes the cameras arrived in (i have 4 of these ir domes, 7 genies 5302 dome cameras, and 1 covert.) i have set two up on the front, and 2 up on the rear of the bungalow, (ones on the rear 1 camera is on the corner and 1 camera is in middle of bungalow overlooking garden area. and none of them look out of place at all, in fact people in street dont even notice them just uploaded a couple more shots of the info of the dome from the box to give model numbers etc.

the tape measure has only just been done against the cameras to give members an idea oiof tru sizes,

the pictures are quite close shots to the cameras I'll take a couple of wide shots later to show the true size compared to the building

ill be honest its a dome ill be using as long as they are available, for the price im very impressed with build, weather proofing, camera image ir setup etc and general quality as its all metal; which some of the other less nice units from our local suppliers are only made of plastic housing etc, this is completly metal.

the dome is approx 4.5 inches in size if that helps in diameter height is approx 6 inches max.

the dome is 10x zoom and if wide angle the ir is say 1 where as if 10 x zoom the ir can be set to anything upto 10 it has quite a extensive menu ill take a snap shot later

hi shockwave the the ir can be made to come on on its own aswell thru a menu and depending how zoomed in it is, ill have a play with the ir control and see if it works as a seperate control aswell.

ive been very impressed and the two big clients that have got these installed at their pub and storage facility have been very impressed, i have mine linked to a dedicated micros ds2 with alarm unit and it works very well we have these insalled on a bungalow so not really more than 12 feet high.

most weird thing we ever caught on our cctv was a male coming to edge of driveway and peeing up our hedge in early evening all caught on cctv police cautioned the person responsible

sounds like youve got the address of the new camera ptz set to the same as the other one which moves at the same time, change the setting for camera address to number 3 and that sghould fix the movement issue.

sounds to me like hard drive has given up in machine, id suggest you get a new hard disk drive replace it with old one, and reformate via the dvr machine so it will see the hdd agfain, ive fixed jpeg2000 units a few times this way by changing hdd. hth

i use these sort on our house and can easily see things over road like regs and face upto 70 feet away

heres what i did when we had several incidents in our street/home to do with cable thefts, and scrap. i installed a lamppost light at end of driveway on concrete pad, and installed a covert varifocal ir camera inside the lamppost looking onto our driveway entrance area, caught several number plates when people have parked there although since the number plate cams become installed we havent had a problem apart from postmans van etc but at least registrations can now be read day and night.

but if that makes it a proper job then thats what id go for imho.
