vin2install replied to misslehead3's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Still the same whether its a powered mic or not. That line in functions the same. -

vin2install replied to almelst's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Why not just use the vga to composite convertors and encode them to onvif streams? Seems cheaper that way. -

Security system with satellite internet (remote location)
vin2install replied to go_snow's topic in Computers/Networking
Satellite would be fine. Make sure you go with Excede instead of Hughes because Hughes requires a static IP for remote viewing or other functions you might need. Usually you would only consume the bandwidth against the cap when you are looking at it remotely. It wont use a lot when it is sending alerts here and there. -

It could be the hard drive. Try disconnections the hard drive and let it run to see if it still restarts.

HikVision RTSP delay/lag, not in iVMS software
vin2install replied to BassTeQ's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
You might be pulling the substream on your Tablet and pulling the main stream on the RTSP which is higher resolution hence the slight delay compared to the substream. -
Newb: Looking for my perfect NVR/VMS
vin2install replied to ck42's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
HD Witness works with linux and doesnt use that much of CPU resources. Even an Intel atom can handle 16 x MP cameras. -
Testing Milestone - internet access issues
vin2install replied to voip-ninja's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Your CPU usage shouldn't be that high for only two cameras on HDWitness. Check how much bandwidth those cameras are consuming by clicking on the "I" on the top right of the cameras. -
You can use No-IP, it doesnt require a credit card. Doesn't Asus routers have free DDNS of their own? http://asusddns.appspot.com/

I actually think the encoder is a good idea. I dont see why it would be so expensive since the DVR is a lot cheaper now.

ACTi 5611 connection issues are killing me!
vin2install replied to Razer_SE's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
What VMS are you using? Sometimes the VMS will send certain CGI commands to make the cameras lose connectivity until a reboot of the camera is done to restore functionality. -
IP cams at lower resolutions - crop or keep the full FOV?
vin2install replied to MaxIcon's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Don't most cameras keep the same FOV? 1920x1080 Main Stream 640x360 Sub Stream -

The Effio and Next Chip are DSPs. The Super HAD II is the CCD sensor. -
