Sony Effio-E Super HAD 700TVL ANY GOOD

http://www.securityhardwarestore.com/security-cameras/dome-cameras/qvis-security-eye-sn34-v2w-n-600tvl-28-11mm-36pc-ir Call and talk to Jed, he's a nice guy, might be able to ship international.
  2. Have you checked the router logs to see if a connection attempt is being made?

Sony Effio-E Super HAD 700TVL ANY GOOD

I'd skip them. No name, for how much savings? You can buy Qvis Eye34's for about $70. They have a real DSP and a company that is confident enough to put their name on the unit.

    SWANN tech support

Hey, that is pretty good tech support, they answered!
  5. Well, glad you got it resolved. I've been driven crazy on occasion with ground noise. It is no fun to deal with, especially when you are someone like me that thinks using isolators is cheating.
  6. I'm not sure amperage would do it as much as style of power supply. The old heavy transformer type wall-worts are superior to the new slimline switching types when it comes to noise.
  7. Yep, agree with the above, the POS iOS client relies on the extra stream. Hopefully they fix that soon.
  8. The Dahua stuff works great in Wine and they have their own bottled wine app as well. Rory at Bahamas secuirty also has a couple of great apps that work under wine and can be bottled if you desire.
  9. I used a common unix program called strings to get all the printable ascii information from the firmware binary file.
  10. No worries, its easy to do: http://www.openwall.com/john/doc/ You'll crack the first one fast, should take less than an hour. The second.... the one you need....
  11. There are the two that I extracted from the firmware. root:$1$$hHm1qD.DyK9Xigb1sbKph.:0:0::/root:/bin/sh root:ab8nBoH3mb8.g:0:0::/root:/bin/sh If you want I can send you my john output, it'll buy you a month.... but it could take years.....
  12. I ran a password cracker against mine via telnet for numbers 0-999999, nothing. Grabbed a firmware update and pulled out all the strings in it, found two that were root followed by a hash, cracked the first one, think it was changeit or something. Ran the second one for a month on a quad core box and got nothing, so its a pretty good password.
  13. Anyone notice that this board seems to attract some _REALLY_ cheap people? I am very frugal. but I'd like to think I'm not cheap. I'm just amazed at how many people around here are looking for the absolute bottom dollar items. $30 cameras.... $100 DVRs.... and then they end up either frustrated or buying more expensive stuff.
  14. That's tricky, comparing the on screen images is an ok way if the vendor has them. Otherwise you can ask or just go with a vendor that is advertises the fact. Linux PSS is just regular PSS wrapped in a Wine (windows emulator) package.
  15. Any of the Dahua based units will work with PSS. Rory at Bahamas security has some really cool apps that work with Dahua as well. If you are happy with Dahua, why even consider Night Owl (TFT), they are similarly priced.

    IR washout on CCTV Cameras

Not sure how to resolve it with the existing cameras, they are probably some settings you can adjust that might yield a better result but the real answer is getting cameras with intelligent DSPs. CNBs are particularly effective, I get no wash out on faces with my WBL-20S.

    Good outdoor dome? VBM-24VF?

Probably the best non-IR camera deal out there. I don't know of anything else in its price range ($130) that comes close.

Video Balun RJ45 to BNC + DC

Those things are all over the place, its not a unique design. Its a design that doesn't really work well if you have a central power supply that doesn't standard connectors.
  19. For really good night time ID, you are going to need a TDN camera and some IR to augment. The CNB 24VF series cameras are a rock solid choice at a reasonable price.
  20. I believe you can use VLC to serve out an rstp stream using dlna
  21. Most here favor the Dahua brand, its rebadged in the US to many diferent brands. The hard part is finding a seller that will give you support after the sale. There was a good seller that advertised here but that relationship went sour and now you are off finding someone on your own.

    CNB D1750N

Its a $30 camera at best. The DFL-20s, which is a newer gen version of that camera regularly sells for $50. 85mm is a detriment too, not many people look for that focal length. I recently picked up some MN1750, they use the same chipset, not a bad camera, nice when there is a lot of light, I grabbed a few for $15 each on closeout.

    Help Required

Depends on what DVR you have. Most cameras look great when hooked directly to a monitor or live view on the dvr. The actual footage once compressed goes downhill quickly.
  24. I've had good luck with these guys: http://www.amazon.com/Next-Generation-Remote-Control-Extender/dp/B000C1Z0HA Turns your IR remote into RF.
  25. helpful post, though can these images be used for all sony CCDs or just the cheapest?
