    Robox DVR & Cam

Hi, may i ask, what will the baluns do? reason i thought cables may be a slight problem would be as the power runs down the same cable and there quite thin, interference? yes i noticed its a rebranded DVR, i notice they have some ok rep? Its a new model 1080p, has two ports for HDD with D1 on every channel, spec seems ok. Its just hunting my problem of quality, i notice in shops etc they have crisp clear pictures and mine is nothing of the kind, dotty etc Atm its linked to our 42" 1080p tv (will be getting a 22" soon) i realise that 42" is too big and would have some picture quality loss? i have tried it on a smaller basic square monitor but still notice the same problem

    Robox DVR & Cam

Hi, thanks for the reply Its D1 on all 8 channel 25fps I set all the DVR settings to max, D1, 25fps, I put the Bit rate type from CBR to VBR and set it to 6 (max) Bit rate (kb/S) 4096 Im sure i havent touched the cams OSD menue however today i set it back to factory settings I did notice this morning the recording wasnt watery and washed out but the picture still isnt crisp (maybe im expecting too much?) After giving my settings what do you think it could be? would the cables have that much effect, is the DVR not up to standard? As i say the cam is 700tvl sony effio E, i need covert cams, can anyone point me in the right direction for tiny ccd 700tvl pinhole cams? Picture quality really isnt what iwas expecting from this, i dont want to waste my money in buying the wrong products as i need to capture faces covertly, i know possitioning is key etc and i will do my best to get that correct but need the right gear at a fair price, from what im getting now isnt good enough, i thought i had all the settings correct etc from what i can see it could be the cables but if it isnt that perhaps the DVR? the cam has ok spec i think Any advice etc would be much appreciated
