  1. I'm curious, how are your original cameras getting power from? It almost seems as per your post, your original cameras only have a BNC connection and nothing else?
  2. Oh, trust me, I could rub it in, but I'm not like that, LOL.

    New need some opinions

SYSvideo, what horrible advice your giving this guy. First off, your advising him to order direct from China, so this way if this DIY'er has any trouble with anything, he has no means of tech support. If he gets a defective item, now he has to ship it back to China. And 2ndly, you post a pic of a camera with no info on it whatsoever. What a joke.
  4. Wasn't I telling you that you needed to use your TCP port the whole time?

Actually, to be more precise, the entire camera is 206mm, which is 8.1 inches. Not the 4.5 inches or 4-6 inches as stated. This pic is from the link you posted. It really doesn't matter the size of the dome itself, it's when you look at the entire thing on the side of your house, that is the measurement people would like to know. I even notice that you do not start your tape measure to the top of the camera. Not sure why, but it doesn't matter. According to the website, like I said, it's 206mm or alittle over 8 inches to be exact. Still, that is not HUGE, but I'm not sure I would be calling it a mini PTZ.
  7. Yes. As I've already said it works with IE, Blue Iris, Security Spy and DComplex so something as basic as that I have done. I don't use the default as I have a convention for the ip address and ports of all my cameras as 192.168.1.15x and 8xxx, and use the base addresses for the NVR. In your NVR setting, what is your HTTP port and what is your TCP port? This last comment you mention 8000, but that is only one port. As you have mentioned repeatedly, it works in IE and blue Iris, but that is a different port than a mobile device uses. Computers use HTTP and mobile devices use TCP on Dahua NVR's.

LOL, funny one Shock. I have the bigger one on my balcony right now and I have a few of the small ones left after a big order. I just saw now in Dahua, they have that smaller one in a 2mp 30x optical. I really want that one!

    IP Wall monitors

I had to install 6 32inch Orion monitors for a customer at my job. We had 3 out of 6 of these very expensive Orion monitors go bad within 2 days of install. We had to pull them down, send them to Orion and wait for new ones since our distributor doesn't stock them. They are expensive and special order cause not too many people use them considering the cheap price of TV's today. And on top of all that, I was not impressed with the image AT ALL. They were thick and bulky, and for the price of the 32inch, my boss could have bought 2 or 3 55inch LED tv's!

    IP Wall monitors

For the price of LED TV's today, why not just use them as monitors? They have hdmi inputs, they're lighter and thinner than monitors, cheaper than monitors, and if they go bad in 2 years, the price might even be lower anyway. As far as viewing multiple cameras at one time, that is up to the DVR/NVR, not the monitor/TV.

Before I purchase, best value poe switch?

It's even nicer cause it's a managed switch. Good deal for 99 bucks.

These are my PTZ's and they are not 4-6 inches.
  15. Is your TCP port 8000 in your NVR? By default it is 37777, so unless you changed it, that is your problem.

For some reason, that camera on your house does not look 4-6 inches.....
  18. Do you mean something like this?
  19. The bit rate for each channel for main stream and sub stream in the NVR. Usually, time out means there is a network issue and rebooting everything helps out. If your too high on the bit rate, and your ISP service is not liking it, that will also give you time out. What is our download and upload speed? Are you timing out when your on your own network or outside your network?

That is certainly bigger in the pictures than it looks on the website. If I was using an analog ptz like that, I would have liked it to be much smaller. Especially if it only has 10x optical. The Dahua ptz's that are 2mp or 3mp are that big, but it's understandable. It is a good price though for a ptz with IR's.
  21. Reboot the nvr and router. Make sure you have the correct password in the app. And what is your bit rate set for in encoding?
  22. Someone told you the app to use and we are telling you that it will work. It works for everyone on this site that has a Dahua NVR. So, if we say of course it will work, guess what, it will work. Your settings are not correct, that is why it is not working for you.
  23. I truly disagree with you. At this point, almost EVERY single analog manufacturer has an IP line. Digital Watchdog, Everfocus, Digimerge, HIKvision, Acti, Mobotix, and many more. As far as which NVR works with which cameras, buy the NVR the same manufacturer as the camera you chose and your good to go. There are tons of technical terms and info on each and every manufacturers website. Either your not looking hard enough, or your afraid to dabble in something you have no experience in. But being an IP guy, you should know technically exactly what you have to do to set up an IP camera system.
