Make sure your are not using a guest wifi network..also make sure you are connected as a home network and not public (windows allows you to connect as, home, work or public..) You can change this after the fact in network and sharing center..

no you can be on wif thats fine...how are you getting to the dvr main menu? If you are using an ip address to access the dvr then just use that ip address for your dvr...you dont create ip addesss, they are either assigned by the router or you set your device to grab one (static ip) Take a screen shot of the page (windows 8 has a snipping tool) and post it here... As an aside, if you want the start button back in windows 8, download classic shell http://www.classicshell.net/

is you computer connected to your router?
  5. it looks like it was not adjusted properly at the factory..you may have to unglue the lens and do it your self..
  6. First get you dvr working locally before port forwarding and using no ip (that wont work right now anyways...you prefered dns network should be set to 8.8.8.8 which is googles dns otherwise nothing internet related will work...(remote viewing, email alerts etc)..

first understand that this is a very low end system and will give you poor image at best..if you want to spend that little you are way better of with this 720p zmodo system http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?sdtid=7440744&SID=32a633f621cc4ac19adad143c2a178f5&AID=10440897&PID=1225267&nm_mc=AFC-C8Junction&cm_mmc=AFC-C8Junction-_-cables-_-na-_-na&Item=N82E16881523074&cm_sp= You only have to run one cable to it (ethernet) and it powers and transmits data of the one cable...the image will be much better than your system from HF.. That said..every device connected to your network is assigned an ip address by your router..to find it you need to go to login to your router and look at the connected devices...alternatively use an ip scanner like this http://angryip.org/
  8. On a consumables' date=' I would ask first. I bought three Ryobi batteries (about eighty bucks each). One failed way prematurely, and I was out of luck because the warranty was based on calendar time instead of usage/charge cycles (which was very low).[/quote] I have returned open led bulbs before..no issues...batteries may be different..also they changed their policies in the last year or so...

    Swann ADS 466 Registration

buy a 50 foot cable if you dont want to take it down and test it that way... Bottom line is wifi is a terrible idea for cameras...pay a pro to run a cable and you will be able to buy cheaper better cameras ....for the 100 premium for that camera over a hikvision 2032 3mp camera (85 dollars on aliexpress) you can have someone run cable... At the very least you can just use powerline adapters...
  11. Where do you intend to mount the camera?

    Swann ADS 466 Registration

why dont you try setting it up when connected directly to the router and see if it works...

    Swann ADS 466 Registration

Is there a way to manually set it up? This is not a true network camera and i believe it only works via swanns cloud service...regardless why dont you just call support in the US?
  14. The pin configurations is not the issue, its the IEEE802.3af compliance...also the unit only outputs 15v which would not be enough for long runs..dont give this guy any ideas to mess with changing pins..these units simply will not work,...he needs to buy the right injector..

Its about the same price so you may as well.... http://www.amazon.com/Copper-Ethernet-Waterproof-Outdoor-Underground/dp/B00CA2X5W6/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1417273690&sr=8-1&tag=cc4m-20&keywords=cat+6+direct+burial Beware, that the same company sells CCA copper clad aluminum for less..dont buy that
  16. Home depot has a very liberal return policy..you should be fine..

Dahua NVR vs Hikvison NVR with Hikvision Cameras

To improve low light performance you need to log directly into the cameras and crank the noise reduction to 100 percent and either disable or lower wdr to 10 or less...
  18. No problem...good luck..
  19. What kind of bulbs? Most are 600-1500 lumen each so how are you getting 5000 from two? This is one you might consider http://www.homedepot.com/p/Cree-90W-Equivalent-Bright-White-3000K-PAR38-47-Degree-Flood-Dimmable-LED-Light-Bulb-BPAR38-1503047T-12DE26-1U100/205184900
  20. Instead of spots you should use flood lights..the spots concentrate on one area too much and will wash out faces create an improper image balance...I use led and clf indoor floods with no issues outdoors (there are not many outdoor flood lights, most are spots..)Dont use halogens or incandescent as they are expensive to run all night..
  21. First, you will have to splice on the camera end as well and plug into the 12v female plug...You cannot use the cameras POE via ethernet that only works with a IEEE 802.3af power source... I understand you are trying to save money..but you are WAY better off using hikvision cameras for 85 dollars from aliexpress than using the this technique... Bottom line you should not be looking at savings from the poe end of things.... Here is another suggestion http://find-a-poe.com/product/WS-POE-8-48v60w/ Awesome reviews http://www.amazon.com/WS-POE-8-48v60w-passive-Ethernet-Injector-cameras/dp/B0086SQDMM/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&tag=cc4m-20&qid=1417237385&sr=8-1&keywords=poe+midspan using this, you cost for 8 cameras and your cheap switch will be about 6.50 per camera... you can also buy used poe midspans on ebay for 12 cameras for 25 dollars.. http://www.ebay.com/itm/D-LINK-DWL-P1012-12-PORT-PoE-MIDSPAN-/231190478065?pt=US_Network_Switches&hash=item35d406bcf1 Got a big project? 24 ports for $57 or best offer http://www.ebay.com/itm/Power-Dsine-6024-24-Port-PoE-Ethernet-Midspan-External-Hub-PD-6024-AC-M-/390948345052?pt=US_Network_Hubs&hash=item5b065654dc This will be cheaper and better than your proposal...
  22. You need to make sure you enter your the correct ip address and ports in blue iris, have you tried all the zmodo's from the dropdown...(it will not be processor intensive if you are not using it for encoding and just viewing..also those are 480tvl streams which dont require much processing)..you might want to use ipcamviewer ios/android app to scan the dvr..generally there is another make and model that has the same settings and matches up..use that dvr in the blue iris drop down..

    CCTV advice for renovation

The camera you mentioned is analog..so you cant use it..i think you meant this camera DS-2CD2232-I5..note that it is not available with a 2.8mm lens like the turret.. It may be worth it..... If you are looking at bullets you may want to consider the DS-2CD2T32 however i have not seen anyone test it yet.. It is available with 30m, 50m, or 80m ir..but the minimum lens is 4mm http://www.hikvision.com/UploadFile/image/2014101311390770075.pdf

    CCTV advice for renovation

I would not use the 2132..its is only two axis, which means it cannot be wall mounted without a mount...also its susceptible to ir reflection causing a foggy image...you are way better off with the 2332/3332 turret camera..you can mount it anywhere and the ir is better...you need to figure out the lens size yourself. the 2.8 will be wider but you will loose a bit of clarity because the megapixels are spread over more area...i would get one of each test at each location and decide for yourself..

    Building a new house

Yes you can..u should use burial grade solid copper cable (make sure its not cca or copper clad aluminium) You can also use conduit as well...conduit is nice because you can snake more cable later if you need (make sure to add a few extra pull strings to make that easy later)...
