    Hi Pete UK? You can still keep the Cat5 plugged in even if you connect another cable to TV, for this you need a RG59 Coax with BNC one end to connect DVR Monitor output and at other end Phono connector to connect to AV socket, or a scart to Phono adaptor.     Where have you located the DVR? Can you get a cable down the conduct the TV coax run down? There are a number of various ways to do this wired and wireless and with IR remote control of your DVR at the TV

    Get your own pipes laid by contractor doing the rest, if theres an issue its his problem then not yours We always pull in our own cables as the contractors tend to be a bit rough on cable etc

    you will need to portforward or DMZ to make it work use - http://www.canyouseeme.org/ To check the ports you need are open remember port80 is blocked by a lot of broadband providers so move this in the DVR to another port
