SimpleVue Geo - Basic Remote Viewer

Is their SDK support is as good as their tech suppport? I wonder if they really are called Harry, Larry and Sally. Probably like my buddies from Thailand, they choose their Western name.
  2. Best I could find was this http://www.aver.com/software/IP_Cam_List_010407.pdf A list of 22 different cameras supported, mostly Axis. Brandnames: Axis Vivotek O'rite Panasonic Sony Veo Linudix Pixord

    This criminal is screwed

You appear to record in CIF more often than not? Yet you use high pixel analogue cameras. Why is that? Cheers, photys.

    Covert Camera Install

I know people who have bought from RF Concepts for past 3 years without hassle. Regarding the DVR, My only gripe with RF is they carry very few brandnamed goods. If I were in your shoes, I would buy 2 of their 4 channel brandname DVR´s and view them with their CMS softwear (Central Monitoring System). Means less cabling on the camera side, and one more cat5 / wireless access point. Their brandname DVR has no fan so it's covert in a sense, no noise. I have done 15km wireless installs, but I only use it as a last resort. Use their false roof or existing cable conduits to get a cat5 to the directors office. Run the DVR or DVR's into a switch and plug into a second nic card in the directors computer. Using a seperate IP subnet. Quick and cheap local viewing. Any IT guy would soon discover the remote traffic (internet viewing), so keep it local. Please excuse the kinda choppy answer, toothace and painkillers :/
  5. "True day/night" cams have IR cut filters. If you are not using IR lighting, is there any reason to get a camera with IR cut filter.

    Webcam Program, Multiple Hosts?

It can be done. My geovision remote viewer has 5 different locations logged in the address book, some static, some dynamic using no-ip.com to resolve the IP. mmmm, theres even a no-ip.com address resolving a static IP there. Generally the IP only changes when the router is restarted or the ISP does maintenance. This is so infrequent I have never noticed it. I use no-ip.com. Simple, quick and free for non commercial use. The No-ip app installed on the remote computer resolves the IP every few minutes and as soon as the computer is restarted, so there are smooth transitions between IP´s

    Geovision

I dont recommend it, but I have a GV-800 running on an Nvidia AMD Athlon XP 2400 motherboard. intel/via (northbridge/southbridge) boards can cause trouble with audio or graphics. Always use Intel/Intel.
  9. EDIT: Man you type quickly Rory! Geovision 8.1 runs at standard resolutions, but also: 1920 x 1200 1680 x 1050 1600 x 1200 1280 x 1024 I strive for a 720x576 pixel TFT :/ Why? Thats the pixels output by the PAL DVR software. 1440x1152 would be perfect for 4 cams. Until then its CRT for quality, TFT for space saving.

    Help installing IP Camera

I think the guy has had one too many hits to the head already Sorry, just realised English wasnt your first language. Apologies.
  11. Sorry, I mis-read. Didnt see the word "from"...... then used in in my post. Thanks for the education.
  12. I thought the IR filter was removed from the imager in low light? Patience of a saint isaac, cheers.
  13. Got it. Thanks again guys. Its not a true day/night cam if theres no cut filter. Thats the mantra of the forum Why am I confused? : I kinda assumed ther would be a cut filter on all midrange brandname outdoor cams. 0.3 lux + WDR + No Cut filter http://www.samsungtechwin.com/product/pro_view_eng.asp?pro_uid=546&cat_uid=16&cat_biz=CTV&cat_lev=AC 0.7 lux + Cut filter http://www.samsungtechwin.com/product/pro_view_eng.asp?pro_uid=1513&cat_uid=16&cat_biz=CTV&cat_lev=AC

8Ch Dvr for Self Storage System

Thats a really good point. Live remote viewing H.264 is at least double the speed of other compressions. I record in D1 MPEG4 for quality, and remote view with H.264 for faster frame rate.

8Ch Dvr for Self Storage System

Look into the manufacturers CMS applications (Central monitoring system). From my research, many companies that produce a 4 ch DVR also produce a CMS application. This allows you to log on and control several dvr´s as if they were one. ie, I was going to stack 2 Avermedia 1304net and use their CMS3000 softwear. No motion masking in this unit though. Avermedia only have motion masking on their PC cards and embedded models. From practice, I can connect to 16 cameras over 16 different DVR's with the basic Geovision softwear. I should really use their CMS application, just never got round to installing it.

    Low Light Camera Test Comparison

Thanks mcs. Seems I was looking at the same models. Ordering a 415, and the 450 + 4120 domes. I dont need the WDR in the 4120 so I will grab a 4020 also. Will price up the 700 series as those specs look great.

    Low Light Camera Test Comparison

Hey mcs. You still got those Samsung samples? Im about to buy a few different models to test.
  18. I belive they won an award for that codec too
  19. Gascash has always worked fine on mine. Similar specs to Rory.
  20. I put the slow playback down to my processor. WMP using 100% CPU.
  21. I dont have the equipment or experience to judge LUX levels. I wondered what features you would recommend for a dome camera in nightclub conditions. Most cameras will be covering the staff / client line of transaction. Recording at 4CIF 640x480.
  22. Please post anything you have, between us we will have it running to its potential. Im interested to see how the Panasonics look throught a geovision.

    Sound issue

Ha! I think I got this one Bottom far right on the playback GUI, click on the button marked something like "realtime / frame by frame" You only get audio playback with "realtime" Something I learned the hard way :/
