  1. The 721's are WD right?

Needed a good Day/ Nighter with the above specs, and found the 520's. Tested them out at the ISC show and they look great! Put in 11 of them on a trucking facility last week. Looks very good.

    Found that article online yesterday.

Yes, they're Wide Dynamic and THEY ROCK!! But they're also BIG, so the question stands on what eyecu is looking for.

  2. Whew! Hard sell on the 520.

Anyway, I have two Samsung 721s and love them. The 520s appear to be very high-quality cameras at a very good price. However, they’re both full-blown CCTV cameras, which are conspicuous. What are you looking for? Low profile or in-your-face? Do you plan to install IR illuminators?

  3. Anywho.... back to the topic of CCTV.....

Anyone know where I can find a board camera with both IR cut filter and support for an auto iris lens? (I don't care if it's Union made or not.)

  4. Dude, I live in the same state as these guys, so NBFD, except having to pay CA SALES TAX!!! .

    Regarding the cut filter, read:

"TRUE DAY NIGHT (TDN) Function using Solenoid TDN Mechanism exists only at Ambush. OLPF filter and Glass can be switched upon certain level of light without any other influence."

    One “suspicionâ€

  5. Maybe he should have sat down with his DELL laptop and used his MICROSOFT software to check the NEWS and tonight's TV LISTINGS on his YAHOO account.

  6. Where the spec shows an AES (Automatic Electronic Shutter or EI Electronic Iris) range of shutter speeds from 1/60th > 1/100,000th of a second, they are not designed to accept auto iris lenses.

The specs for my Samsung 721 say:

    Electronic Shutter Speed:

    NTSC : AUTO (1/60 ~ 1/200,000 sec), MANUAL (1/60 ~ 1/200,000sec)

    Iris Mode:

ESC / Video Drive / DC Drive

So I'm not sure mention of an electronic shutter is a tipoff. Maybe mention of an 'EI Electronic Iris' is the red flag to look for.

So the quest continues: Where can I find a board camera with both an IR cut filter and (support for) an AI lens?
