Welcome! I am from the Haddonfield area.

    IR 840nm Filter

Lasers are collimated by nature as the beam bounces between two mirrors at high frequency before exiting the device. The beam is co-linear (parallel waves). When viewed, the eye tends to focus on the beam on the retina. This burns the retina. L.E.D. radiation is non ionized radiation. Just below the microwave spectrum. It produces heat which is absorbed by tissue. Different tissue absorbs I.R. at a different rate. There is a specific absorption rate (S.A.R.) is determined by the frequency of the I.R. wavelength. Long exposure causes cataracts to form in the human eye from I.R. The I/R and Laser can reflect. The angle of incidence equals the angle of reflectance.
  3. Metrologic instruments, Blackwood New Jersey has exactly what you need.
  4. If you have overwrite enabled the drive should re record over the old data from the beginning to end. No need for you to clear it and start again.
  5. If you are like me, anything that can catch a wire and stop a pull will occur. Example: when pulling Siamese through an attic to an eve exit area, the cable will catch in the "V" where the rafter meets the joist. I drive a large smoothe nail vertically in the affected joist a few feet out from the intersection point into the said rafter. Then run the Siamese on the far side of the nail shank which guides the cable away from the intersect point, and allows a clean pull to the exit hole (situation will vary).

    IR 840nm Filter

I replied because this is a health risk. I work in the Laser industry and have been aware of this issue for years via product warnings. The amount of damage is dependent on the wavelength/power, etc.

Never look into I/R sources. The I/R causes cataracts to form in your eyes. Laser light also affects eyes the same, and some wavelengths can blind you. The invisible 950 NM wavelengths are extremely dangerous as you cannot see the beam and exposure is not cognizant to you at the time.

Help me select/place a camera on my house.

With the plastic mail box that you show, you may be able to mount the cams in the mailbox post. Then you would not risk having mail or mail man disturbing the wiring or cam placement. The in post cams may even survive a baseball bat attack on the box.
  10. You could try placing a camera polarizing filter in front of your lens. You then rotate the filter until the reflection disappears. Then mount the polarizer in that position. Problem is, the polarizer will cut down on your light.

    Hello!

I have installed alarm systems, and two surveillance systems. I am totally addicted to tinkering with covert systems. There is nothing that satisfies me more than being able to out smart a crook. You guys have some good advice! Thanks! Ron

    Hello!

Hi! Thanks for the question. In the last twenty five years, my alarm has triggered twice. The police responded both times. The first time we were on vacation, they found no evidence of intrusion. The second time we were on vacation, and it was our dog sitter that tripped the alarm. Ever try phoning the desk Sergent from the shore and telling him that the dog sitter is OK? Anyway, my new dvr has 16 N/O N/C capability. I have not tied it to the basic alarm, and may not. The dvr can email any incident when the dvr event is triggered, and the time stamp will verify with the police report via their case #.

You could try hooking the video out from the Lorix to video in on a VCR. Then hit record on the VCR, and play on the Lorix. I did this to pull video from my single channel Lorix to a tape in my VCR before I upgraded.
  17. A program called mini player should be automatically installed to your backup. I just puled up a pdf manual on a NVDVR model which stated this on page 41. Hope this helps! By the way, did you format your media before the copy?
