Can you share with us in what environment you think they are better than box or IR cameras?
-
I just had to post this :
-
A good field monitor with a decently sized display should suffice. If you need more then check out the "Camera Master". A handy tool, but no substitute for the good old eyeI thought the "Camera Master" or similar device would actually be better than using the subjective good old eye.

FYI
I got a response from Aver support stating that the drive should work.
-
Thanks for the info sajaan.
Have you tried any hard drives that were not on the supported list?
I wonder if any of the Segate SV35 drives would work?
-
Great info, thanks!
-
Thanks Wendy.
What about the display question?
-
Is the quality the same between the EB1350net and EB1704hybrid? The specs are the same.
Also, in the specs the display resolution is listed at 720 x480 but the diplay frame rate is listed at 120fps CIF. ???

Wolf - Thanks for the heads up on the Nuvico. I was just going to try one out for a job. I know they have had reliability problems with other cams in the past. Maybe I'll try the TBT instead.
Lou - The PC police have been alerted. (I though the HS reference was )

you can also do 4 and 9 camera full screen remote view with Aver.

Comments would be appreciated from anyone who has experience with both of these units. I am particularly interested in recording quality. Thanks.

were you upgrading the card too, or just the Geo software? Whats the DVR specs? What Geo software was on there before?Card and software. GV800 and I think ver 7.02.
Asus P4800SE 865PE chipset
P4 3GHz
512MB 400MHz DDR
NVidia Card (I'll have to check which one)

OK, I finally have run into this problem too. Cleaned registry, deleted all Geovision files, ran CCleaner and logged in as Admin. When I run 8.1.2 installation nothing happens. I'm not sure if the "passdll" fix is applicable to this.
Any ideas?
Email me for a solution.
Thanks Tomasz, but no luck.

After a series of installing/uninstalling programs and several failed attempts, the culprit was that I was not signed on using the "Administrator" userid. Even though the userid I was using was part of the Administrator group and had full read/write access, for some reason signing on using "Administrator" as the userid made the difference. Program installed with no problems. I hope this helps save someone's time in the future.I hope this is not the solution. With XP Home Edition the Administrator account is only accessible in safe mode.
Has anyone installed 8.1.2 on a XP Home Edition OS?

On another note to Rory. I used the DSP connection out on the 1480 card today to my Samsung 244T LCD monitor and the video out from the card was terrible. Worse than the monitors VGA display. The DVI connection cleaned up the real time viewing nicely. I will be tweeking some more tomorrow. I have sample videos that I can send to anyone if they are interested.
Video output from the DSP to a CRT will look exactly like the output of the camera.

CRT if you have the space.

Or you can try the Affinity Digital Modulation Kit and not have to eliminate any channels.

Damm Rory you have been busy. I haven’t been around in a while and I check in today to look up something and what do I find, a load of freebies!
Good work " title="Applause" />

I know this is an old thread but, ispyvision how did the megapixel cameras work out with the NV6480Express card? I have been wanting to check this card out too.
-
Rory if you actually try anything from this company please let us know. I have used the Avermedia cards a few times as an alternative to Geo and I think they are as good or better in some areas. I have not tried any of the newer cards yet but they look compelling.

Downloaded another copy of the drivers and reinstalled. A message came up that I was replacing a newer version of the driver; did it anyway and now the spot monitor has returned. Hmm....
