  1. Going with you suggestion i did think it would be possible to use the parallel space android app to launch 2 versions of the swann app, each with its on user account and displaying a single camera and use them in split screen mode, however trying to display the swann app on split screen mode even without using parallel space crashes it. The swann app is buggy as hell and their customer support is next to useless via email.

  2. Hi Guys.

I have a swann 8580 NVR with the hdmi cable going to my tv where i control everything from. I have 6 cameras fitted.

I wanted to install a small monitor next to the front door so i can view the footage from the cameras pointing at the front door and down the side of the house before answering the door to anybody. I was originally going to simply use a hdmi splitter to send the footage to the monitor, however after thinking about it, displaying the footage from all 6 cameras on a tiny screen will render it too small to see anything at a glance.

Now i am thinking, is there a way to display the footage from only 2 cameras on the monitor if i hook it up to a computer and use 3rd party software or something? This would be to purley display the footage, whilst leaving the NVR connected to the TV.

Or failing that, using a couple of small monitors, with each monitor showing the dedicated footage from a single camera by intercepting it somehow?

Does anybody know how to achieve this?

    Many thanks

  3. Hey guys,

    Finally my second query here.

Id like to put a couple of cctv cameras on my detatched garage however im not really keen on digging up the patio to run the cables (There is no way the cables can get to the garage unless they are underground).

The garage does have power to it and a spare socket where i had my previous wifi camera plugged in, however my new cameras arent wireless they are poe.

Is there a simple solution to make a poe camera wireless (considering they plug directly i to the swann 8580 NVR rather than the router) or should i just bite the bullet and rip up the block paving?

    Many thanks.

  4. Evening all,

1st of 2 topics here that hopefully you guys can help me with.

My previous cctv setup included an internal cctv camera that was wireless and would connect directly to the "hub" of the system (the external cameras were poe and connected to a switch which was then connected to my router). I have since moved to swann cctv and have the 8580 NVR, this differes to my previous system as the cables for the cameras plug directly into the NVR.

Im keen to get another couple of internal cctv cameras fitted to keep an eye on the dog and heaven forbid see what any intruders are up to, however swann only appears to do wifi internal cameras (the external ones are a little too big for my liking to fit indoors).

Does anybody know a way i can connect a wifi camera to my POE NVR so that i can view all cctv from the same app and have it all record in the same place? Google seems to suggest the cctvcameraworld website has the exact info i need but their website seems to be down.

    All help is greatly appreciated.
