Screen stretched, can't see the buttons

Do you mean you have color cams as well? If so, are they PAL. cams operating on NTSC system, if they are they will only show B/W
  2. I'm sure you have probably done this, but first install Direct X 9, then install Geovision drivers, then the main system, but also have you got the correct drivers for your motherboard. Do the yellow ? appear beside Geovision drivers or motherboard drivers
  3. I presume you have clicked on the network button (bottom right), then " web cam server" then video tab, does it not give you any other option than 320x240?

    mac support! Dang that ActiveX!

I could not agree with you more Andy, I never use anti virus, I use Firefox and sit behind a router, and haven't had anything harmful to speak of in about 5 years, but I also don't download music / films etc. and am really careful what sites i log on to, and the usual precautions with Email etc.

    mac support! Dang that ActiveX!

I have a client that just bought a Mac. with OS X It has the Intel chip, so it is compatible with MS. You just download some software ...Vmware Fusion. (Google it), and install windows It works real good. A lot of people have changed to Mac because of the problem of viruses, (and Vista), but if you use windows to access your DVR only, you wont run the risk of picking up viruses, but this dosent solve the problem with old Mac's. Guess youll have to spend a few bucks
  8. Yes but what worked in the end, I have the same problem, and the MAC address does not work , or the CD-Key, that came with the card does not work, although that is specifically what they ask for...?
  9. Hi guy's, I remember reading some time ago on this forum something that Rory mentioned about testing out an Eee pc with Geovision. It was something got to do with stripping down XP Does anyone have experience with this, one of my clients wants to buy / use one (Eee pc 900)with Geovision, and maybe Avermedia. Thanks .... Dominc

    how is Avermedia??

Well I finally had to import a card from the UK. First impressions are very good, it is certainly very user friendly compaired to GV. and yes I also like gagegts, but its the clients that we have to think about , and their needs... thats what makes the sales !

    NV5000 Delete files ?

Hi. Just installed NV 5000 card, So far I like what I see, but I have a few questions; How do I delete old files , I don't see any facility. In playback mode, there is a very useful green activity line just above the scrol bar, (motion detect).... but this is missing in remote playback ? When I try to log in to www.ddns.avers.com.ty to register, the server seems to be off line ? Thanks Dominic

    NV5000 Delete files ?

  15. Hi, I'm building a DVR using NV5000 (first time). Is it true I need to use XP Pro. Instead of XP, and also do I need to use a video card , instead of on board video. I've used Geovision up to now, and they just need XP + on board video, for 600/650/800 I plan to use Intel mobo. with 128 MB on board video Thanks ... Dominic

    how is Avermedia??

Hi, I'm considering Avermedia also because of problems that Geovision cannot resolve with 600/650 cards. I have been trying to contact Avermedia Benelux, situated in Nederland, for about 3 weeks now , about 30 phone calls , nobody picks up, 4 e mails, no reply. All I need is a supplier in south Nederland or Belgium, all of their suppliers listed on their website don't have the "nv5000", or never heard of it. I think this is very sad for a company this size, Geovision offer an excelent service and support. I'm sorry, this is not what you want to hear , but this my initial experiance with Avermrdia although I believe their DVR cards are excellent. If anyone can give an address of a supplier in NL. OR BE. I would be very greatfull. Thanks Dominic.

    GV. live view incompatible cameras

So I take it only combo cards solve this problem, or does the 800 card use a different chip?
  22. Hi guy's, I'm new here, first of all ,I'd like to thank you all for what I have gained from this forum, it's enormous. I have started building Geovision DVR's about one year ago, and have slowly conquered all of the obstacles I've encountered along the way, until now. I have discovered a problem with certain camera types, that just will not work properly with live / remote live view, I use 600 + 650 cards V8.12. The problems are : Distorsion of certain parts of the image, especially with movement. Blurring out of certain areas, especially floor tiles, or floor boards. Flinching or pulsing of the center of the image. The complete image shifting up and down about a millimeter. The last two, causes unwanted "motion detect" The specifications for the DVR's are way above the minimum recommendations set by GV. that includes no VIA chipsets etc. The cameras are all OEM, I can supply all details if necessary, but the one common feature that they have is, they are all low lux cameras, 0.2 0.1 0.05, This occurs only with live view, when i connect them directly to a momitor I get a perfect picture, when I view in" view log "...perfect picture. I have tried different resolutions, different codec's, different gain etc. I have even tried NTSC, as I normally use PAL ...not much difference. I can't seem to solve this one , I have read in your forum about semilar problems , maybe they are connected. Again thank you all for your help in the past, maybe you don't realize how many people read and gain from this forum without actually posting, or reacting. Regards ... Dominic.

    GV. live view incompatible cameras

Thanks Rory It looks like I will have to upgrade to 1120 card to avoid the problems, but I will be pricing myself out of work. I'm still going to try to find a solution, if i have success, you will be the first to know... Dominic
