ARE THESE CAMERAS AND DVR ANY GOOD?

Sorry Scott, you are wrong in one thing... These cameras are made with the illusion that they have 2 cannons that are aimed at you in case you get caught by them. that's ultimate security.
  2. Come on, ARGUS is the same crap as Intellicam DVR'S. They call it GV-NET. Another company has it out there by the name of Digital Watchdog. the live picture quality is pretty good, but the recording is crap, and good luck using it remotely, uses the same OEM remote software that most cheap taiwanesse DVR Manuf's are using. Everfocus? read other post by other members so that you can see. I don't know anything about dahuatech other than they where a medium level manufaturer of telecommunication products back in the 80's, and the company failed miserably after some main telephone switches failed and some countries in latin america where basically without phone service for a couple of days. Although h.264 live recording sounds very very tempting to try out.

    Any info on this DVR?

The DG-800XP is no longer in production. All they have is the DIGI-1600XP.
  8. Well, how about just taking a big old rock and throw it at the camera>? I have seen also where people would take a pipe or stick and hit the camera the other way.

    Color Camera DVR Adjustments

Well, unfortunately, it's not that easy, I mean, I dropped I-VIEW for that same reason, my customers wanted something, and when the idea was given, all I heard was "next version next version". There is something better coming along, supposed to be out around late this month, and we'll see how it works out. hermin.

    Color Camera DVR Adjustments

It would be simple to set a exterior light sensor outside, and have it connected to the DVR via a relay (like those alarm relays), thus telling the DVR to switch from daytime to nightime operation.
  11. The best way to test a vendor is by calling them, and telling them that you already have bought the item, and are having a video problem with it, and see how the handle it. Then you can tell for yourself what type of people you are dealing with. hermin

Well, all that I can do is wish you all good luck in your endavours. I'll keep in touch thru e-mail. Anyhow, I am closing this thread, it's caused too many problems.
  13. The FTP actually is restricted to certain distributors, because it's I-VIEW's own FTP. But I will get all of them, and I'll make a FTP and Download Section on my website, so that older customers who bought this cards from me can have access to the files. I'll get it done sometime this weekend. herm.
  14. Well, Version 2.9 just came out an hour ago Rory, the FTP has it, under the normal folder.

Ok guys, take a breather, discussions like this are always healthy for the forum, because discussions like this, kinks can be worked out. Just one thing please. Don't disrespect eachother, we are all professionals and adults here, it hasn't happened, but don't let it get out of hand. If I feel that it's getting out of hand, I will close this thread. Thanks. You may now continue your battles

AAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHh Man, you guys don't get it. By that spammer registering, we can track his IP and then know who he is and ban him from coming back.

As the moderator of this forum, I honestly prefer the forum to be more private, there is something that can be done for this, because I do see the problems, and I also are getting more and more junk e-mail from manufacturers. Maybe there can be a simple solution that can work for all. I have seen other forums that in order to view certain areas, you need to register and log in. Basically not making the entire forum private, just certain areas, let's say, leave general digital discussions open, but close pc dvr and digital recorders sections. This way, people will be more compelled to sign up. In regards to the dealer section, I have full control over that section, I have contact information of all members, and I have also done my research on them. Now, one more thing, DATA, what did you mean when you bid all farewell?
  18. I recommend the SANYO DSR-3009H600, it's 600GB of space, and it has all the features that you could possibly need. It's a standalone unit, and this will probably be the best solutions since it's more reliable and need less maintiance than a PC based solution.

best interior dome for retail situations

Talking about housings, I have had good luck with STI housings, and I also have had good luck with yokotec housing, which is considered the cheapest of the cheapest. It's all common sense, if you see the rubber seal coming off the housing, then don't use it, bottom line.

Well, just so that you all know, cctvoulet made it. They are open again and going on.
  23. one thing to consider. Maybe that you want to get good stuff, but just can't afford it. The best way to go about it is by just getting one camera at a time, but try and get the dvr first, so that you have the most expensive and most important thing out of the way.
