I think that the Digicams are Geo's, I'm pretty sure of it. Send me an E-mail, I'll send you a client version of alnet, which I believe is much better than the alnet. hermin@shscomputers.com

The geovisions tend to lock up with AMD systems, I have seen them happen, the only thing that I see wrong with the ALNET is that the CPU runs a little hotter, not by much, and yes, stay away from x-vision and the cheap eBay cards. Hermin@shscomputers.com-----for more information about the ALNET

I honestly like to use the PC based a little more than the other's they are better managed, and they sell better because they are cheaper, and more manageble.

I'm running the cameras anywhere from 20-200 feet from camera to source, and yes, they all have bnc ends. a barrel plug is basically the power supply tip. it's not that happens all the time, just wondering what I should stay away from to avoid it happen.

OK, as simple as this... I take the camera, I splice both ends to a cat 5, example: Blue/Blue White----------- Video Orange/Orange White----- Power. I then take the other end, the one going to either the DVR, Multiplexer, Quad, ETC, I splice it into a rg59U, and into a power supply, that has 12V, 500mA. now, I thought that the problem was all the slpicing, so I stared to use siamese cable, make the ends ?(bnc, Barrel Plug) to both ends, and the same thing.. it does not happen often, but when it does, it drives me insaine. Actually, the domes are OEM, not really a any brand, but to be honest, I have been using them for the past 4 years, and I have under 1% fail on me, the cost for them to you are $55.00 shipped.

I can sell you a ALNET DVR CARD, 4 PORT PCI, 10fps per camera, but since you are only using 2, then it will be 15FPS, and it does store it in the hard drive, plus you can check it thru the internet, but the only drawback is that you have tu use their software, which is provided by them. the cost: $249.99 + Shipping. The audio thing, I know for a fact that in CA, if it is in your house, only the people that live there need to know about the audio, but not the video. I can also get you the consealed cameras, pinhole lenses, color, in either a clock, or a smoke detector, how about a fake plant?, all for around $150-300, depending if it's wired, or wireless, CMOS, or CCD. STAY AWAY!!!!!!!! I tried one of those cards, and let me tell you, they use a software called "pico 2000", the most unstable software that I have ever used, go for the ALNET system..
