    Forum problems?

Anyone else having a problem with the "new post" icon not showing? Meaning, when someone has posted from when you last visited, the icon on the left should turn red.
  3. Windows uses 20% of your bandwidth ! Here's how to get it back: Click Start-->Run-->type "gpedit.msc" without the " This opens the group policy editor. Then go to: Local Computer Policy-->Computer Configuration-->Administrative Templates-->Network-->QOS Packet Scheduler-->Limit Reservable Bandwidth Double click on Limit Reservable bandwidth. It will say it is not configured, but the truth is under the 'Explain' tab : "By default, the Packet Scheduler limits the system to 20 percent of the bandwidth of a connection, but you can use this setting to override the default." So the trick is to ENABLE reservable bandwidth, then set it to ZERO. This will allow the system to reserve nothing, rather than the default 20%. Works on XP Pro and 2000.
  4. Took another dead (corrupt) PC based DVR out and installed a Kalatel. Made me warm and fuzzy.

I figure I get my hands on so many cameras (being an installer) I will start writing my opinion on them and I hope other people (preferably installers-pro and/or amateurs) will post also. I say installers only, because we are non-biased and are not “pushingâ€

Can you implement a hack to disable GUEST VIEWING? I mean, I know you can, but will you? There are always Guests viewing our personal information with unlimited access to all files, including our emails. They are probably sucking the Server dry, by creating traffic and slowing down the board. It would also be nice to see them participate. If they want to “LURKâ€

Funny, the man running this board (Larry) has registered this Board-cctvforum.com ANONYMOUSLY. It was done through GoDaddy.com and hidden by DomainsByProxy.com. Rather amusing. I can not find an option nor a page where I can delete my account. Do you have full control over that also (not giving members a choice)? Please delete my account. It has been a real pleasure learning from you wonderful people....all of you.

ActiveX is Microsoft and Cross-Platform. It will work on almost anything.
  21. I have some Day/Night cams and I need a little help on the lighting. I have the lighting (Halogen) directly behind the cam, and yet I still get a grainy picture. My target would be the SUV (or driveway). If I turned the day/night feature off, I still get grain. The light is definately bright enough (it is hard to look at directly). The picture is perfect durring the day, but I just can't get rid of the graininess at night. Any suggestions? Oh, the cam is a Bosch FlexidomeXT LTC 1462/21. Here is the DAY shot Here is night BLACK AND WHITE Here is night COLOR
