I was wondering if you had any experiance with the HIK Vision dvrs, and if so, how do they compare as far as playback resolution and remote observation compared to the ge products such as the ge dmvre / storesafe dvrs?

i have this problem that now my storesafe will not be accessable via wavereader and the screen tells me that a normal connection could not be made and asks me if i would like to make a live connection instead? even then it wont really connect. it shows the green play button but nothing comes up on the screen? anyone else had this problem? thanks in advance.

does anyone know where you can find the old 1-1/4" or 31mm fans that sit between the 2 hdd banks to cool the dvr?

Ive got a ge store safe that i have installed 2 seagate 500gb hdds and it functions fine except it gives me a harddrive error icon on the screen. I have ran the test on the record menue and reconfiged it to factory settings a few times to no avail? This also occurs on a dvrme that i have connected to a dvse ? I am hoping either rory or the cctv guy outa southern cal can shed some lite on this?

Turns out the current ge dvrme system that i use for remote viewing is not able to use the same router port settings [1024] as this Hik unit. The Hik uses a 8000 port setting, ect.... I am just wondering if this Hik unit has worked successfully for anyone else regarding remotely viewing on an android phone?

Has anyone wanted to or actually viewed a remote location with their cell phone using ge wavereader...........? I am talking about the new droid phones like the samsung vibrant that has a 1ghz processor,16gb harddrive ect. rory?

Has anyone been able to remotely observe wavereader on this phone....this would be for a ge dvrme wavereader compression for remotely observing or playing back video and audio?

Well the heading is my question...just wondering if any of the new smart phones can do this....? This would be a accessing remotely a GE dvr like storesafe that transmits thru the standard method of a modem/router on site dsl.

well the subject says it all .... the connection on the flat moniters and i really only want a small one is a 15 pin connector? is there a conversion cable or devise to make the moniter receive a coax cctv signal ...???? thanks

I have an aforementioned ge prosafe that does not bring up a picture in wavereader but the green lite on the play button comes on and it reads the ip address...? This is the same whether at the site on a laptop or remotely viewing? Anyone else have this happen? Well I do have 1.5 terabites running on it but it worked fine for 6 months untill now....Also cant even get live view?

I need to know if you can rout a signal from a dvd player's line out [rca connectors to a line in [rca connectors] on a vcr and then out finally through the vcrs coax [out to tv] to view either whats playing on the vcr or what is going through the vcr from the dvd player?

easy as pie to swap out hdds on the ge ... also takes 7500 rpm drives as long as they are not sata drives. just got to download the ge wavereader software. I have put in 2/ 500gb and 2/750 gb hdds.... just use the best seagate drives.

should only be limited by the number of jacks on your hub or router.

one thing i have noticed when i installed 2/ 750gb seagate hdds in my storesafe pro ..... i get the icon that the harddrive is bad ....but everything works fine......when i do a hdd test thru the menu it passes but still the icon and i did download the web interface utility thru my laptop onto the unit?...... the icon is the little icon bottom of screen in the center with the X thru it. oh and the boot up does read 1.5 terabyte hdd.

If its anything like the symdec your remote view is very pixelated and forget remote playback... its a bandwidth hog..... in comparison to the other ge products like dvrme or prosafe or storesafe ........ the other difference is compression type the older is wavelet or wavejet and the newer is mpeg 4?

Yes... and it works.. Just make sure you have the latest firmware that you can download from GE website...

 

We had it working with two 750GB PATA drives and reaching to 1.5TB internal storage and no problems reported...

do you have the serial or model number of the seagate drives and were they 16 or 8 mb cache?

I was told by ge support that a drive with more than 8 mb of cache wouldn't work. But I think it had 16mb of cache. I say I think as the seagate website gave conflcting data on the specific drive.
