Top DVR Cards

Recommended Posts

Geovision have some TOP DOGS, but also some very lame horse cards...

GV-2004 & GV-2008 is good

GV-1480 & GV-1240 is ok

GV-1120 is so so

GV-650/600 is for fun.... (dont flame me)

HikVision DS-4016HCI is good for 8 channels

Hikvision DS-4016HCI is ok+ for 16 channels

Hikvision DS-4016HSI is so so/for fun....

But it all depends on one thing! What you need it for? Looking at the weather you can use a GV-600, to identify, read body language you need something like GV-2008 or HikVIsion DS-4008HF.

Still capture cards is not good enough (my personal view as everything else I say here), what about having a GV-2008 card for 4 cameras where you can get better quality on the 4 cameras.

I am wondering if the development on a higher level quality is a low priority due IP influence on the market as well as the CCD chip level performance. Give me a card with twice the resolution of the ones in the market today and also 60 Frames a second for really high speed capturing.

When you REALLY NEED a system the quality can never be too good!

Besides Geovision, who are the current top dogs for PC Cards.

Thanks,

Minh

Thanks for the response. I don't need very many features. Key are:

1) Price

2) Stability

3) Decent picture quality. My customers need to be able to recognize the face if they take footage to the police.

I currently use Chance-I to make my PC Based systems, but just wanted to see if there are any others that people recommend. BTW, It costs me almost double to build a Geovision system with the same specs.

Thanks,

Minh
