2 GE DVR's behind one router

Recommended Posts

Is there a way? Tech support talks about having two different listen ports, but that means you have to change the .dat file each time you want to change which DVR you're connected to. Does anyone (read: Rory) know of a better solution? Thanks

Which GE DVR?

We have programmed 6 GE DVMRe DVRs behind a router... No special tricks of any sort, except that you have to assign the appropriate IP address on each DVR, the gateway and that is all...

Storesafe Pro II, both of them.

Did you have to forward different ports to them? How does the router know which DVR to send the incoming connection to? What router did you use?

As long as the ip is different for each dvr ie: 192.168.2.10;192.168.2.11 then it will be kept seperate that way.

You can assign listening port numbers to each DVR. You would then access the DVR's remotely by entering your public IP address with that port number of the DVR you want to view. Like this (66.125.112.10:80) The :80 tells the session which port to send the info to. If you had two you might call the other DVR Port 8080 thus you would enter 66.125.112.10:8080. I hope this helps.
