smittyjf 0 Posted October 17, 2008 GV800 v8.2 Vista Dual core 1 gig ram 750 gig HD 640x480 interlaced I have just recently had a problem backing up a file larger than 20 minutes. I have never tried one this large before (only 5 - 15 minutes maybe) I back up using Video/Audio Log, highlight all segments and save as either AVI or I also tried .EXE. I get a Failed message after about 1/3 to 3/4 of the way done. I have had no problem when they were only up to aprox. 15 minutes, but anything over 20 to max 60 it fails. I can do a normal back up under backup, but I just want to merge the clips together for a regular avi. or an exe. Jeff Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

andy_geovision 0 Posted October 24, 2008 Hello Jeff, We had done this test with version 8.2 before. However, we didn't have this issue. Have you tried add more RAM as dcam mentioned? smittyjf 0 Posted October 30, 2008 Hi Andy, I just added 1 more gig of ram for 2 total, but it still fails. We have 9 Geovision systems (9 supermarkets) with various cards from gv650 gv1000 to gv1450 (I do the installs). The older cards are running v7 and the newer cards are running v8.1. The newer ones with only 1 gig of ram and vista, but there are no problems. I can backup up to 1 hour to either an exe or merge to one big avi file. The one I am having the problem is a personal one for my house running 8.2. I may downgrade to 8.1 to see if it works better. On another note, I see you are working on the Iphone. Is there any progress with that. I have an Iphone and would love to see something soon. I do carry an Att Tilt that I have gview on, but it would be nice to have the iphone working.
