The I-view is currently being tested by Mohegan sun and Foxwoods here in CT, I am representing I-view in the proccess, and the best thing that they have so far is the Virtual eMap feature, where they input a floor map, and then they have either cameras, sensors, or alarm icons, but in the camera icons, there is a small LIVE picture of what the camera is seeing, plus all of the other features one would want, expecially implementing the NAS storage units, which is really a good feature, since all they got to do in order to have more storage capacity is to just add NAS storage devices, I can only tell you that Mohegan, for testing purposes, has added 4 terrabytes of storage, for their 1400 30fps cameras that they have on site.

Thanks for the advise, my biggest problems in Egypt, are Import Duties (upto 70%!!!!), and also aftersales service / maintenance. This is what is pulling me away from the far east products. However on price alone they are very attractive. The I-View1600xp would appear to suit my needs, can anyone give me more feed back on this. Also would a PC based system be a lower priced option?.

The large companies who deal in heavy duty casino DVR's are way out of my budget ($180,000+ for 64 Cam).

Thanks again for your help so far.

Adrian

You got PM

and the benefit of PC over Stand alone, is that you get a hell of alot more features, plus it's simple to install and maintain, but the best thing about them is that you are not tied up with the storage capacity, just add as much as you need!!!

One quick thing that I forgot to add was that the I-view uses Emdedded WINXP PRO SP2, so there is no software issues whatsoever, so basically you can consider it as a stand alone realability with PC features

those are stand alones. And they are embedded, they are not RTOS though thats the difference.

You might want to also look at Dallmeier, or Cieffe. Dallmeier is German. You might also try Kodicom they might be cost effective for you, and they are in Korea. Try to stay away from Pelco 9000 series, its just a piece of junk. Or try i3DVR out of Canada, I know they have a 480/480 machine that not too expensive.

or you can try http://www.cctvlabs.com/Central/central.htm and choose for yourself. Good luck, hope this helps.

I forgot to mention, stay away form General Solutions, they are having major money problems, possibly BK in the not too near future unless something spectacular happens. Has been general industry knowledge for some time now.

The best product I have seen out there so far is the Hikvision. They use the H.264 codec which is stable as can be. You should take a look. They also have that virtual matrix. So far the only one that can do "true" D1 on as many as 32 channels.

Actually I see they now do 64 channel and they do have the virtual matrix. The DSP technology appears to be the answer for you. We have used the system as a 64 x 8 matrix on CIF and 32 x 8 on D1. We have been able to stack them and centrally manage them. Using their bridge we can communicate with Pelco and AD matrix switchers via the RS232. All in all its a good solution. Do not know about support in the Middle East. They do have an impressive client list but mostly in Asia.

Network Video Recorders would be great. In my opinion the best 1 on the market right now is the JVC VR-N100U. Does everything you need. You can put up to 60,000 cameras on a single IP Address. Does 30FPS per channel.

go to www.pro.jvc.com they should have link their under security cameras or type VR-N100U in search. You can actually buy this 1 in the states for less than $7000

Its not how many cameras you can add, it is how good the network software is. 1 single IP for 60,000 cameras?? That doesnt make sense.. nor would it work very well on a local network.

The Idea of an IP system (or NVR) is to plug in video servers where you need them, each server/camera will have a unique IP. The software at the main remote station is where the storage devices are, and the software is what does the work. Without good software it is useless. JVC is not exactly the best out their when it comes to IP, or CCTV for that matter.

I see 128 channels on their web site. Never heard of them though. for a high security risk as a casino they probably will need some time to evolve before the casinos start using them. Pretty impressive specs though, except the DVR looks like any other cheap PC.

1000 cameras on a single screen .. dont think they will want that!

I understand how the IP cameras work. I also understand what your saying about the 60000 cameras. That was just a feature on the spec sheet. JVC actually came out with a new GUI not to long ago. I've used it quite a few times and really like it. Your right about JVC and there DVR line, but there analog cameras are remarkable. I would put it up against any other camera with the same specs any day. Just my opinion though...

Yeah they do have some good specs. Actually their Wide Dynamic Camera uses the same technoloy as GE's Ultraview and others (pixem). Id actually like to find out if they are cheaper, as the GE wide Dynamic (and other WDs) are just too pricey for what the cameras actually do ..ive used it 3 times too many!

If you have any image clips please post them .. thanks Im juts not that impressed with WD cameras yet .. a good camera outside and 1 indoors can get a better image and cover more .. if yah know what i mean .. or maybe its just GE .. ive stopped using their WD cam for now ..

That's why I asked where you buy from. I can get you prices but they would be more than likely from a state side distributor. I haven't quite learned how to post pics yet. I have been putting them in as my Yahoo Profile Pic. Unfortunately I don't have Pics of the wide dynamic otherwise I would send them.

If you do some homework you will see that they are actually the largest manufacturer of cards in the world. This is the government of China not a small concern (national company not private). We checked them out thoroughly before we tried. The DVR's we received did not look like this one. The one we received was actually much different and put together well with much in the way of fault tolerance. The stability and picture quality is what is most impressive. Look at the live demo and see what i mean. When have you seen audio sync like that. We actually this week got the mobile phone beta and they stream video from the DVR at 15fps with sync audio compressed to 30k with a gorgeous pic. The thing that impressed me most as far as installs is their product in a banking solution with 1,000+ locations and 8 cams avg/loc. and running T1's from points to central point. I spoke with a couple of integrators here who have them in eval stages with casinos and supposedly happy. But I agree with you Rory who wants to be first. The local reps here in NY though seem to know their stuff.
