PTZ won't communicate. HELP!!!

OK, let me first start by saying most of you pros will laugh at most of my equipment but in my defense I'm very proud of my creativity given my tight budget.

I had a similiar problem. I tried to use my Geovision GV-Net to control a AD SpeedDome IV. Had all the settings right, tried changing them, all to no avail.

 

Took it to my job where we use AD controllers... works like a charm. Now I just have to get the fan from cycling on and "buuzzrrrrrrrrrr" every few seconds. I think some WD-40 on the fan assembly will do it. Worked to relube my PC fan.

 

But I am sorry, I have no explaination for the lack of comms. But it may just need an actual AD controller.

I'm sad I havn't gotten any worthwile responses... I've ordered a RS232 to RS422 adapter from Ebay. It should be here any day. Anyone have a copy of Sensormatic Hex code commands?

You might want to check out this software, they have a trail version that may help you sove the problem.
