Question regarding video output format

Recommended Posts

I am working on a generic looking 9 channel DVR, the user guide says DVR-MU107, no other identifying marks on the unit.

Running the backup program to external hard drive produces video files with .vvf extension. Does anybody know of a file viewer or conversion program to view these in Windows operating system?

Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

The .VVF file format is used by Speco Technologies for files created by their DVR products.

I checked their website, but couldn't find viewer software.

You could try VLC media player along with the K-Lite Codec Pack - between them they'll handle almost every media format known to man. It's likely a more common format (MJPEG, H.264, DivX or something) with a non-standard filename extension.

Thanks for the replies. Finally found the model DVR by googling DVR resellers and matching the picture of the system on a resellers site. It's an Atrix DVR and was able to find their viewer software from the site. From there it was as easy as plugging in a crossover cable and streaming the video to the viewer software, which nicely exports to AVI format.
