Panasonic WV-CP484

Recommended Posts

Just thought I'd sing the praise of these cameras, as if it has not been done enough before. I just did 3 of them today, one inside a very bright entry lobby, two outdoors. Amazing, and i mean it, images. The customer was blown away.

Also added a Honeywell vandal dome, and for the price the images were awesome. It was very reasonably priced.

Replaced: Pelco Color camera (black box cam, color only forgot the model)

Toshiba IK644A

Accurate (who makes this?) (forgot the model, looks old though)

Many shotty made BNC connectors

Added: 3 CP484's

1 Honeywell WDR vandal dome

Hmm, well maybe you or someone else could give me some info. I just put up one of these and the picture seems a little off. Could you tell me what to set all the setting too? I appreciate any help.

Well prior to me muking with the settings the grass seemed more normal looking and the colors were better. But the picture seemed dark. Let me see if I can find one to post to show what I mean.

***heres one from another angle but you can see what I mean:

Those 484s are definitely in the top-end of the analog CCTV spectrum - ultra-wide dynamic range, auto-backfocus, user-adjustable white balance, maskable light-level detection areas for iris drive... they cost a pretty penny, but you really get what you pay for.

We all love Panasonic 484

but this days almost the same money will buy you 1.3MP Camera

so u can read license plate about 10 feet away as in your Picture

Those pics above look fine on my screen.

I have a WV-CL934 that can't wait to try out, just need a lens for it.

Yeah, until it gets dark, or the sun moves around and gives you nasty backlighting.

Not really Soundy

since i start to play with CCD Megapix everything got better

I can compare with Arecont in my stock now

I was trying to give you few clips but could not ever get hold of you

Yeah, but now you're comparing to Arecont, so you're really not in the same price range anymore.

I don't consider price for 484 and Arecont being too much apart

plus I never care about prices

that is up to my customer

I present choices they decide

Got two, not very good recognition at night

The first the person is stationary @35' away from camera:

Here moving at 25' or less away:

well done....

this is a classic example of the shutter speed to low [motion blur]

this is why I asked ,

few more lights may make it slightly better. [& crank up the shutter?]

Are you using the f1.2 lens ?
