IP cam recommendations under £200 - Y-cam anygood ?

Recommended Posts

Hi im looking for some IP cams under the £200 mark

Things I need are wireless, does not need to be outdoors and needs IR

I was thinking about the Y-Cam Black Wireless Indoor IP Camera

http://www.use-ip.co.uk/y-cam-black-wireless-indoor-ip-camera.html

Ive been reading mixed reviews on them, but some of the reviews are quite old so I guess they have been improved on since.

Anyone with experience of the above.

Thanks

Hi friend,

This is Ricky from China, I've seen the cameras you want, it's not worth that price..really..this model is an old one, the image chip size is 1/4" and the image chip type is CMOS.

we did a couple video reviews of them here:

i have seen them lock up at times remotely and i can't get into them for a day. usually when i pull the mpg4 stream if it happens. other than that the picture quality is very good and they are a good bang for the buck IMO.

IMO stay away from linksys and dlink

other ip cams in this range might be

axis m series 1011, 1031, etc.

axis 207

panasonic bl series

lorex

trendnet

airlink skyipcam

aviosys 9070

I recieved my camera today (y-cam black knight) and all in all im quite happy with the camera itself, but the software is quite poor both the supplied one and the multi live one from their website.

Couple of things that I need from the software is sound/beep on alarm and to be able to mask the area for detection rather then the whole area that it does.

Are there any good software options preferably free ?
