1 x CAT5 cable for spot monitor and sys controller?

Recommended Posts

At present I have a Pano 17" CRT monitor (WV-CM1780) and don't feel like running another coax line to where the monitor will be. I already have an extra CAT5 cable though. Can I use 1 pair of wires for the spot monitor (using a balun) and the remaining 3-pairs for my Pano PS-DATA System Controller (WV-CU360C)? I believe it will only use 3 pair of wires from the CAT5. What about interference? Thx.

I don't know how many wires your Pano controller uses, but if indeed there is one unused pair in the run, then yes, you can use that for the monitor via baluns. Interference shouldn't be a problem.
