Hi yes it will only use 4 channels of the dvr. it will not do panoramic. another camera to look at is the mobotix q24

I have never used it with Avermedia but that absolutely is a 180 panoramic camera. You will get alot more image detail with the Arecont then the Q24. 3 MP q24 vs 4 2MP images 8MP total Arecont.

Once again I recommend the AV8185 vs AV8180

hello,

very interesting images, now i don't know which to choose.

as i understand:

Arecont

Pros:

More image detail

Con:

takes 4 channels

You need to do the panoramic since the images are separated im right?

Mobotix

Pros:

One channel

Panoramic automatic

Con:

less image detail.

Im working on industrial environment , i have parking lot, warehouses, lunch rooms.

I don't know wich one is more expensive and the support thing is very important too.

i live near California so i can get support from that place.

Please advice!!

Thanks and regards!!

question... when looking at these cameras through avermedias viewer... how does it look? can anyone post a screen shot? i've been looking at mobotix demos and how you can "ptz" within the picture... but how does the avermedia dvr card play it back?
