DEMO ROOM

Recommended Posts

Hi,

Does anybody have info on manufacturors who are specialised in materials for CCTV demorooms.

I'm searching for professional systems for.

. Structured CCTV cabling,

. Demoroom hardware (except CCTV systems)

Thanks,

Rik

Has anyone seen an installation method for CCTV cameras comparable to a structured network cabling.

Could be usefull for setting up a demo room, and changing the cameras all the time

you could use a wall mount CCTV cabinet, and UTP twisted pair transceivers, this would be somewhat like cable managment devices. It is also neat and simple, and if using the active UTP you will get crisp video with no video loss. You could put your DVR in there also, they have mounts for PCs and Keyboards, laptops, etc.

Thanks for the UTP idea. Could be of use.

Perhaps there is a solution to do the same with RG59 coax cabling?

Is there some network manufacturor who has this?

Anyone seen this yet?

havent seen it yet, but then it would not be the same, loss of signal on coax, and coax can just go right into the DVR/Mux.

smart wiring products also have CatTv as well as UTP and telco.

You probably need to invest in a matrix switcher. We did something like that for our demo room a few years ago so we could run 32 cameras and output them to 5 different monitors. I think that Kalatel has a nice matrix that wouldn't be too much. Rory would know, he is our resident Kalatel expert.

yep, a little pricey but will do the job if you have more than 16 cameras.

MMX-165C - 16x5 Color Multiplexer/Matrix Switcher -$4190 RETAIL

MMX-325CE - 32x5 Expansion Module - $3190 RETAIL

The MMX Combination Multiplexer/Matrix Switcher offers crosspoint matrix switching as well as multiplexer display and record functionality in one product. You can view images from 16 cameras on one monitor in any of several display modes, and at the same time view full-screen images from any connected cameras on four separate monitors. The MMX-165C offers all the performance of our best multiplexers: PVP processing, Triplex simultaneous live and playback viewing, video motion detection and macros.

Add the MMX-325CE to expand to 32 inputs by 5 outputs it's like having a 32 x 5 matrix switcher and a 32-camera multiplexer in one unit.

Features and Benefits

Triplex simultaneous live and playback on one monitor

PVP ultrafast monitor update speed

VEXT automatic record speed synchronization

Expandable from 16 cameras to 32 cameras

you could just use 2 lite Q series 16 channal muxes, and loop out, same thing, except the matrix will switch images on the 4 other monitors. You could always just add video distribution amps to the mux also, depending on how many monitors/cameras you will need to take care of.
