Eclipse 598HIM video sample

Recommended Posts

these are a couple video clips from when I tested the new Eclipse 598HIM TDN IR camera

First what the area looks like from a color camera with no light.

Now the 598HIM in color, switching over to Infrared

Now the 598HIM just in Infrared

It wasnt bad at night, but it did have a spot near the center that was always blurry under IR.

I think I had it zoomed out to the widest angle, 2.8mm.

Overall it was the poor daytime image that killed it for me. It is a TDN with True colors, but the daytime just seemed too digitized, unrealistic - seen this with alot of recent TDN IR Bullets.

Wow, just when I get to thinking my meager camera upgrade is great, I see this and reality sinks in- I'm wading around in the shallow end of the pool! LOL! I could go nuts and spend tons 'o money on this stuff- I'd love to. But I have to stay on the shallow end for a while. When my cheap stuff dumps out, THEN one by one I'll probably upgrade to the good cameras. The thing for me is, I spent so much time and consideration running all my wires and placement, and noodling to get remote viewing set up- why would I want to look at anything else but great now? Good lord- another 'thing' I'm into now to run me dry!

How much IS this camera anyway? Ballpark? I may have to order their catalog. It's just...another catalog though!

Probably around $300 retail in the US, maybe more or even less depending where you get it from.

I want to test the Samsung next, thats a little more expensive.
