Suggestions for dvd burning software.

Recommended Posts

I'm looking for suggestions on DVD burning software that will work with the Geovision software. We currently use Nero and of course its gotten so bloated and I'm constantly fighting with errors from it. We use it because everything else we've tried does not automatically burn to additional discs if the selected footage is too large for one disc. What are you all using?

All the evidence Ive given the cops over the past year have been to USB drives.

Havent had to burn to CD/DVD in ages so I dont even install that in the PCs anymore.

Even when the lawyers request video they come with their jump drive.

But you are right, Nero is so bloated, new versions wont even work on my P4 anymore.

I use Final DVD burner when I make disks for other things, but I dont think that will do what you want. It is free though.

A lot of the DVD burners I've bought for the past few years have come with a CD that includes Nero 6 Express... I just install that (it doesn't seem to care that it's not being used with the brand of drive it shipped with). It's an older version, small, lightweight, works well... there's no need for all the bells and whistles with the newer version, so what's to stop you from continuing to use an old version?

We just use the windows 7 burner that comes with it. Drag and drop files onto disk and then hit burn CD. Simple and quick. Used to use Nero but this is faster and easier.

I've started burning everything as an .exe file since it takes out the guesswork whether the cops have the right codecs.

Thanks for the suggestions. We've gone to using USB drives for in-house security checks but the company wasn't comfortable with the price of using the drives for criminal investigations. We are currently using version 8 of Nero so I'm already 2 versions behind but the problem is that it does not like my 64 bit Win7.

I love Imgburn just wish it would do the multiple disc thing.
