Geo V8.5 win 7home Ult recording, but not displaying images

So this is the first 8.5 I have installed, it was working fine, but now customer has advised there is no video on playback,

I have checked raw files, and it is recording (played with windows media player fine), system flashes orange in description on motion,

but in playback window images are black?

4 gb ram

64bit

2 tb hdd

win7 home ultimate

In short for some reason the installation in 8.5 doesn't put the codecs in there, dunno why but you just copy a working set of codecs in that folder and away you go.

But your right its been recording the whole time its just a nuisance, I was hoping that 8.5.0.1 was going to fix it but it doesn't its just a driver update for the new cards, software is almost identical.

Please, it would be great if you (Seedigital) or someone else could put up a simple step-by-step instruction on how to do this, please. I am sitting in the same boat. Only a black screen and need to get this working. Re-installing the software did not work for me.

Just in case someone else has the same problem:

I fixed it by right-clicking all .inf files and then "install" in the GeoCodecReg folder.

Then it magically worked again.

Ok search this file

and replace

 

or better still get 8.5.4

 

best to have latest version, as sometimes files missing on discs
