freeflyer 0 Posted August 1, 2012 Hi all I have a range of cams that are analogue and others that are digital and I want to record onto an IP network device. I wanted advice on getting the analogue camera content onto an IP network. For example I have an Extreme CCTV EX82 and an Extreme CCTV EX45 here that both have BNC connectors, but I want to connect them to my switch using Cat 5 / RJ45. Can I just use a Balun that has BNC on one end and RJ45 on the other? Or do I have to use an Encoder? Thanks for any advice Freeflyer Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

Baluns will not transmit through a network switch or any other IP device.
