The mount for the lens is different with pinhole and board lenses; the place were the lens "screws" on the camera. So usually when you have a camera that has a board lens you will not be able to focus a pinhole lens, and with the same camera that has a pinhole lens you will not be able to focus a board lens.

Like the following camera, they are the exact same model, but one is pinhole and the other one is board lens. You will notice that the place were the lens screws on the camera is different size.

The same applies to the camera you linked above, notice the difference on the one with board lens and the one with pinhole lens:

Thanks for that, good info i was unaware of

so a pinhold cam must stay a pinhole cam and the same with board lense cam, you can replace the size lense on a pinhole though yeh?

At first i missunderstood you, i thought you was saying you cant focus a pinhole cam

All in all these are good cams though? woud you say there better than sony effio E?

Im finding the clarity isnt great

Thanks

That's correct, you can usually replace a pinhole lens for another pinhole lens with a different angle, and a board lens with a different board lens with a different angle. If you change the lens type, you will probably have trouble focusing the camera.

And the cameras are pretty good for their price (Pixim Seawolf 690tvl ultra WDR). You can surely get better cameras with Sony CCD, but I am positive that for the same price it will not be as good as this one, this one has a great quality for its value.

Great, I will give this a go then

Do you know of any cams of the same size that are better? these are only £55 so like you say a good price but if funds didnt matter whats the very best of this size?

Many thanks for your info

The best one I have seen/used on this size is this one:

http://www.securame.com/mini-camara-ivmc608hsiiosd-ccd-sony-13-color-600-tvl-000025lux-28mm-pinhole-senseup-64x-rs485-osd-p-1002.html

Sony 1/3" 600tvl, 0.00025lux with sense-up (starlight), OSD with many options, and even RS485 change all the settings remotely. In low light conditions it is just awesome. It has been a few years on the market already, so there might be better options already.

I notice on some other threads all there good for is objects that dont move, they have a slow shutter?

Have you found problems with the clarity and face detail on movement?
