Dahua DVR No-ip problem

Recommended Posts

I have a dahua DVR and I'm trying to connect to remotely. I had it working fine, but recently when my ip address changes the DVR will not update the no-ip hostname's ip address. The strangest thing about this is that it will update the ip address when I reboot the DVR (I guess rebooting forces the dvr to send the update to no-ip?), so I know that my information is put in correctly and the DVR is capable of updating no-ip, it just won't do it on its own. Has anyone on here experienced this before, or have any idea on what could be causing this?

Unfortunately, I'm not at the site of the DVR now, and the ip address has change, as I can't connect to webservice. I'll be able to get that when I get back to the site.

Only just come across this forum looking for a solution to exactly the same problem. I use QVIS dvr's which I think are the OEM for Dahura. I recently setup no-ip on a new DVR for a new customer and that is refusing to update the free name.no-ip.org account.

I have checked the settings against another customers name.no-ip.biz and other than the free host name all is good but the .biz one is updating as it should and as it has for the last nine months or so.

I'm wondering if there is a bug in the web interface or firmware with the recent systems?

Ask your customer to open their web browser and goto ipchicken.com. If you changed the http

port to anything besides 80, than open explorer on your PC, enter the IP that ipchicken gave

them, and colon http port. Example http://169.178.23.5:8000

Thanks for the advice fellas, I actually fixed it the next day at the site and forgot you report back to you guys. Problem was the customer had the no-ip host name set to round robin, which I discovered after actually going into the host name's settings. He was attempting to set up a port redirect, because he convinced himself it was needed because we were using port 88 as the http port. I just ended up making a new host name so the default settings were there and it works great now.

it doesn't work on qvis machines much so i use the routers ddns facilities and it never fails using dyndns is what iuse

Agree, when available, using the router's ddns clients a more reliable method, and most routers have more options available as far as services.
