I am an french electrician (sorry for my english). I work usually on TV antenna (DVB T and S).

 

I want connected 3 ptz dome with standard coax (same as antenna) RG6.

I want use crimp connectors F

I agree with you (patch...) but I not sure for bnc compression because in france the coax tv cable is not marked with rg6...

 

For exemple we have 3 type of coax (for tv):

 

- 21 vatc (21db lost for 100 meter at 800 mhz)

- 19 vatc (19db lost for 100 meter at 800 mhz)

- 17 vatc (17db lost for 100 meter at 800 mhz) I use this

 

I think (google search) rg6 is same 19 vatc. But I use 17 vatc and i dont know if bnc compression connector (for rg6) are compatible with it.

just do it properly and use RG59

 

Ok but coax tv cable is not better than RG59 ?

 

For me it's simple to use coax tv because it's my job BUT if you say "not good idea" i will change my plan.

rg6 and rg59 are both 75 ohm impedance and fine for cctv. crimp-on f connectors and an f-to-bnc adapter will also work fine. and yes, i know this from experience.

 

you *don't* want to use a 50-ohm cable like rg58, though.

 

more important is that you use cable with solid copper center conductor (not copper-clad steel), and 95% or better braided copper shield (not foil-and-drain-wire).

There is so much more to take into account than impedance. The bottom line is -

RG6 has lower HF losses than RG59 ( it is desugned for RF frequencies )

RG6 has lower DC losses than RG59 ( it uses heavier guage copper )

RG6 can be harder to run due to physical properties

RG6 is more vulnerable to low frequency noise ( <50Mhz )

CCTV baseband signals are 5.5 - 6.5 Mhz

 

So - if your runs are more than about 250m and are in a low noise environment and are easy to lay then RG6 will probably be ok. I hold by the premise that RG6 is designed for RF signals & RG59 is designed for baseband signals.

Ok, my installation does not exceed 40 meters by line BUT i will put the cable in cable tray with 220V cables.

 

What do you think about that?

No I don't. Never used them. I'm not a cctv pro so I've got limited experience with different coax cable types, connectors, etc for cctv.

I would recommend compression connectors although they are more expensive and need a tool to install. There are all types of compression connectors available for a variety of cables. Here is a video installing BNC on RG-6.

They can work but are unreliable and a constant source of problems.
