Hidden Pinhole Cameras w/IR Capability

Recommended Posts

Would there be anyone who might be able to put to rest a debate over whether pinhole lens cameras can be fitted with IR capability ?

We would like to install these tiny pinhole cameras inside a wall or ceiling inside our residence. So our question is it possible to fit these pinhole cameras with IR and if no it is not possible then what other means can we use to capture the scene during complete darkness ?

Please note that we are aware of non-covert cameras which can be fitted with IR LED.

Thanking you

Well, a pinhole lens is about 1mm. If you plan on installing it hidden, how do you expect to hide the IR?

If you are asking if a pinhole camera can see IR, of course it can. But you will need to install the IR somewhere/somehow, which will make the install not so hidden...

You can also get a pinhole lens kit. Marshall has a few good models that we have used in Police Station applications. You can attach them to any CS Mount camera. If you want to use IR, then you would need to use a day/night camera and then have some form of IR light in the room. This can be from existing non fluorescent lights or by hiding IR emitters in the room somewhere.
