Mini nvr questions

Hi. What exactly type of NVR2 do you have kurben? And which i12 update file did you use? I have NVR2-9EH version and i12 update file replaced Onvif protocol with i12 protocol. Do you have both protocols?

Hi Guys,

I've seen a few posts about this now, but no one has seemed to answer it:

What is the best most reliable way to connect hard disk to the NVR? USB or E-SATA?

I ask this because I have a new Seagate 2tb USB 2.0/3.0 external hard disk that I have connected to my 8CH NVR. The NVR recognises the 2TB drive has been connected but says "Status Abnormal" - It does say the free space and capacity (1907729/1897489).

If I do an fdisk on the 2TB 8CH NVR I get the following:

# fdisk -l
Note: sector size is 4096 (not 512)
Warning: invalid flag 0x00,0x00 of partition table 5 will be corrected by w(rite)

Disk /dev/sda: 2000.3 GB, 2000398929920 bytes
255 heads, 63 sectors/track, 30400 cylinders
Units = cylinders of 16065 * 4096 = 65802240 bytes

Device Boot Start End Blocks Id System
/dev/sda1 1 1306 83923308 83 Linux
/dev/sda2 1307 243201 2659270812 5 Extended

I have another 4CH NVR with a WORKING USB 1TB Seagate drive which gives me the following:

# fdisk -l

Disk /dev/sda: 1000.2 GB, 1000204886016 bytes
255 heads, 63 sectors/track, 121601 cylinders
Units = cylinders of 16065 * 512 = 8225280 bytes

Device Boot Start End Blocks Id System
/dev/sda1 1 1306 10490413+ 83 Linux
/dev/sda2 1307 121601 966269587+ 5 Extended
/dev/sda5 1308 121601 966261523+ b Win95 FAT32

If you compare the output, you will notice that the 8CH/2TB configuration has /dev/sda5 missing - which I think is the difference between the USB drives working and not. It would be good if I could get the manual commands to format this drive and manually mount the drive into the NVR software. I'm not sure on the exact linux commands to do this.

Hello jovanardi, I have the NVR2-N6200-8EL unbranded version with latest firmware.

I used the I12 and I13 protocols that had a download link in this thread. When I did add the protocols all the previous protocols were still left untouched. I have the following protocols in my NVR2: I8, I8S, I9, I12, I13, I18 and ONVIF.

I have now successfully manged to get my ESCAM QD100 camera to work with motion using the I12 protocol. It is not working when using the ONVIF protocol.

The same as I said previously, when I add the ESCAM camera using ONVIF the NVR does not save the Motion detection mask. But when using the I12 protocol the NVR saves the mask settings. It now records only when motion is triggered and stops afterwards.

The NVR probably has a bug in the ONVIF protocol that hinders it to save the motion settings to the camera. Maybe it has to do with the permissions interface to the camera? The ONVIF user can not save settings to the cameras?

Hello kurben,

Tried adding i12 protocol to see if my escam cameras could add motion detection and with great surprise it worked.

As others stated i lost the onvif protocol and 1 camera would only connect to sub stream but got around that by using rtsp as no motion required on that camera.

Thanks

Strange to see that you and jovanardi loose the ONVIF protocol. I have all previous left when I add a new one? Perhaps it was the order that I did it? Have you added all of the protocols? or just the I12?

It is strange if you didn't loose the option. My option Onvif also disappeared.

I would love to add it back since I have two cameras that are no longer showing up at all, but no one seems to know how.

I only added i12 causing loss of onvif, when more time will try starting from scratch but as i12 is working better than onvif with escam camera's it can wait.

EH version of NVR2 has diferent hardware so I think just EH version has problem with update. I have no picture with i12 protocol and Escam clone camera, so I have to use onvif, but motion detection is out of control from NVR. I can set it from cameras web interface, but NVR sets cameras to default sensitivity level and default motion detection area. It is usable but far from perfect.

added i12 - onvif lost

added onvif - i12 lost

added i12 again both ok

And both are working. If I want working onvif back I have to update complete firmware.

Aldo I have been unable to identify if they can run internal drives or are they only external as they do only look small

I've been searching for any information I can on them but haven't been able to find any Thanks guys

It is way too small for a hard drive... It is just a little larger than a pack of cigarettes. I have been looking at them too but I have an idea that they are not going to detect many if any cameras automatically. I have one on order to see if you can configure the cameras manually. I guess I will know in a few weeks...

I also purchased mini NVR sane with above picture. I tried to connect IP Camera ONVIF is OK and display at channel 1. But, ehen I try to insert HIKVISION FishEye 6 Mbps, the IP is connect but the display broken scramble. Does any one have same problem ? How to set mini NVR that will able to display HIKVISION FishEye camera 6 Mpixel ?

Hi to all.

I have a N6200-8 mini NVR 8ch and it plays very well (with exception of the motion capture thing)

I just need one thing. I want to grab the stream of one channel of the NVR with VLC to a PC.

Any one knows what is the path?

In the settings there is the port 554 open so i guess it can happen.

My firmware is

Small_mini_8ch_0153_3520d_A_web_nor_2015-01-24.update

Thank you.

Try this

rtsp://IP:554/ch01.264?ptype=tcp

Sub rtsp://IP:554/ch01_sub.264?ptype=tcp

I made a new post that list the i protocols I have found. Check it out and help with finding the new ones...

http://www.cctvforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=56&t=46055

I have searched thru some of the treads and downloaded the different ix protocols and placed them on my dropbox. I did this because it seems it is so hard for everyone to find the protocol they need. I am also going to add the firmware versions to the list.

If you have a link to download either the protocol or firmware, post it here and I will add it to my dropbox.

I will also link to the original download pages if I can still find them.

Just trying to make it easier for all to get their mini nvrs working like they should.

Disclaimer: I have not tested any of these or guarantee they will work. Use at your own risk.

Install the I13 protocol and add the camera using this protocol, that should make it work.

Update...

I've worked a bit with this miniNVR and found the following: I have installed protocols that are ONVIF, I8, I9, I12 and rtsp. Firmware V4.0 of 04/17/2014. First IP Camera works ok, including motion detection protocol I12. I was able to connect new IP camera using ONVIF protocol. (I12 and ONVIF are enabled only if i activate another protocol does not work). But the motion detection is not working on second camera, only on old camera. I help someone to tell me what protocol works new PTZ camera?

Thanks.

I have the same problem, may you send me rebooting files

Thanks

Hi all,

I have probably bricked my 8ch mini NVR by upgrading it

I have downloaded 8CH_Mini_NVR 20140417_Firmware

and uploaded it.

After that my mini NVR got dead.

At booting it displays picture and then it goes black:

I do not know if its oem or not (I bought it on Lightinthebox).

Can anyone help?

Thank You

It would be great if we could put together a list of cameras people have running that are working perfectly (ie full motion detection functionality). This would make it easier for folks looking to add cameras!

If you have cameras that work great please consider posting up the brand/model?

Cheers and thanks

I've 3 cams 1 with the IPC_HI3518E board and the other 2 with a other board from the same company www.xiongmaitech.com (jufeng). I wasn't able to get motion detection working with all of them with the n6200-e8 nvr (using i12 or Onvif). After some more tests I found out that as soon a password is set in the cameras (admin or other account and passwords added in the nvr for the cams as well) the motion detection immedeatly stops working with that nvr. If I remove the passwords in cams and the cam settings in the nvr motion detection works perfect again. Can some cross check that and maybe inform some nvr developer about that issue?
