I forgot admin password of Hikvision dvr. Could anybody please help me with this

I have changed password from 12345 to something else, which I forgot now. Do you know of any method to recover/reset admin password . Also is there any way of resetting my device to factory default?

What did you think of this NVR? Was it easy to use? How was the interface? I'm looking at purchasing one. Why did you choose Hikvision over Dahua?

The Hikvision DVR is reset by sending Hikvision Tech Support (or whoever you bought the machine from) the Serial number of the DVR that shows up in SADP, then they combine that with the date and produces a reset code, which you can then use to reset back to 12345 through SADP. But each day is a different code.

I guess it would depend on your location...where did you buy the DVR from? USA? Europe? 3rd party reseller? Usually the reseller or OEM (if they are authorized) have the program/formula that creates the reset code.

That description is correct, embarrassingly I once locked myself out of a brand new DVR before handing over to the client and had to go through this procedure. Fortunately I Only deal with official factory direct importers.

 

They are VERY fussy who they will work with especially when it comes to factory Reset.

They may want to know who you bought the DVR from and if it isn't an official supplier they probably won't want to help.
