I have never seen that DVR before. Is it dead? What does it do when you try to power it up? Why do you think you need the "flash"?

Ok, I'm out of here. An improper firmware upgrade can "kill" the DVR. Won't be able to help, since you have already tried an upgrade.

Hi Eli,

Did you read the instructions on how to do the flash?

1. download the file

2. extract the files

3. you'll see a 'flash' folder, the flash files are in there.

4. go into the folder and copy the 3 individual files

5. paste it into a EMPTY USB (with no files other than the flash files) flash drive that is around 8-16 gb.

6. turn off your DVR, plug USB drive in

7. turn the machine back on, and if it works, you should see a black screen for about 10 mins, then the machine will restart and you should be ok.

from experience even if you got the wrong files it doesn't hurt the machine (for these models) you'll just see the H.264 screen if it doesn't work.

you'll know its working if you see the flash drive blinking like crazy and black screen when you start up. IF you see h.264 screen but USB drive blinks, give it like 15 mins maybe its working.

Is there a harddrive inside? I would disconnect it first and see if its the Hard drive causing the problem.

If you remove the covering, you will see a sticker with the exact model number on the motherboard, the firmware I linked you might just be a similar machine but not the same. If you can take a picture of the motherboard maybe we can find a correct one for you.

hmm I would either RMA the machine or get the proper regional flash files from your vendor (the company i linked you is in the US) then try again with PAL flash files (But not sure if there is a big difference) .
