Patching MultiLanguage 5.1.6 for NAS

Recommended Posts

I've got a second Chinese version Hikvision DS-2CD2032-I and this one has V5.1.6 build 140412.

I patched the davinci file on my first camera so it would properly initialize my CFS NAS.

The davinci file from this camera has the same string so I modified the file. When I went to load it back onto the camera, I noticed the /dav folder had a file named davinci.tar.gz.patch.txt. Here's what that file has inside....

============

I haven't seen this file mentioned previously in all of the discussions on patching davinci.

Should I go ahead and upload the patched file to the camera, figuring this is just a CYA move on the part of Hikvision, or am I missing something here?

That looks like the output from some third-party patching software, and it is definitely not something Hikvision has put in there. I'd wager a guess that it has been put on there by some Chinese supplier to convert/patch the camera to appear English.

Whether uploading the patched davinci file to this camera will work or not, I can't say.

No denials so I'd say you've got a good theory, Ray.

the log is from his patching program, in case there are any errors, he would probably tell you to give him the log to figure out where it went wrong.

AliExpress purchase?

Either they licensed it or stole it from CBX...

Hopefully they have licensed it and now have CBX on board.

That would be a win for the AliExpress buyers as well as the company.

If it's stolen I'd refuse charges on my CC until they resolved it with CBX.

/just sayin

That's very kind

No worries though, without making any comment relating to the OP, I can confirm that I'm not aware that anyone has stolen any work I've done relating to embedded linux devices.

If anyone ever does, I know who to call to arms

The vendor has confirmed that they patched the camera for English.

Now, the only question is, has anyone patched this version for CIFS compatibility and not bricked it using the

5001D4C09DE50000000007005CE100000000 hex string to replace the stock 5001D4C09DE52C00001A07005CE12A00001A string?
