Help me make my final decision!

Recommended Posts

Well, my budget is right under $1000 for a security system.

I currently have a 8 channel ZModo system that has surprisingly been running perfectly for the past few years, but I would like to upgrade to something a little better.

My requirements are:

-4 channels (Or more?)

-1080P

-Night vision

-Outdoors

Here are the two systems I have been looking at:

and

The Q-See system is HD-SDI, and the Lorex system is NVR.

Which system would you guys recommend?

Which would you think is higher quality?

I may also be able to push a bit to get this one.

Well, which system would you guys recommend I purchase?

I look forward to hearing from you guys, thanks!

Depends on what kind of cables you have already.

If you have cat5 with baluns, go IP

If you have Coaxial, go with HD SDI

unless you are going to redo the wiring...

I'm not going to be redoing the wiring, but i'm going to be keeping my current system.. So the wiring doesn't matter to me.

I'm just wondering, which of the 4 channel systems would you guys recommend? Is one better quality than the other?

Thanks!

If you keep the wiring then that means you have to use HD SDI (which can reuse your cables) unless you use Ethernet over coax adapters for the IP.

So your only choice is the first one lol, which is not bad....the technology is great, but qsee HD SDI is not that good in quality, lots of noise at night.

I mean that i'm keeping the old wires, but they're staying with my old system that i'm leaving there.

So i'm going to be adding more wires.

Which of these two systems would be recommended?

If you are going to run new cable and run 2 independent systems then you should get a true ip system not SDI and run ethernet.
