How to connect camera to software

Recommended Posts

I know it's a generic, wide open question, but I'm desperately trying to connect some Kayodo CCTV IP cameras to my Synology NAS device's CCTV monitoring software. The cameras came with software (the ones that weren't blank disks) that uses English as a third or fourth language and was written by non-coders. :s

The code uses mjpeg, H.264. Looking at the camera's web page, I see it's actually trying to pull the video via QuickTime "rtsp://192.168.1.xxx:554/user=admin&password=bla&..." but other CCTV software doesn't recognize this URL.

Their own NVR software works, but stinks. Any idea how to discover the settings so that I can create a settings file or something for the many CCTV IP Cam software out there?

Thank you!

I dont see that camera supported by synology...i dont get the idea of saving a few bux and going with a no name brand then spending hours trying to get it to work..

Try this http://www.ispyconnect.com/man.aspx?n=Kayodo

you can also try wireshark of fiddler to try and figure out the stream..

you should be able to get it working with ispy or blue iris..
